Grenadier power vs condi (after dec 2013)
Engineer kits tend to scale very well with power but also happen to apply a lot of conditions. You could really go either way.

You already gave the anwser
you want survivability (tough,vit,heal)
you want direct dmg (power,prec,critdmg)
you want condi dmg (condi dmg)
As a Grenadier with a 400 worldrank, I can say celestial is the way to go.
If it´s just about the most damage, nades on berserk gear definetly hit way more harder than a condi spec, thats for sure. Plus condis can be removed.
its personal preference in the end really… do you like DoTs or do you like DD.. both work well.
Asura Ele- Sir Im afraid youre short. Why is it always short jokes. No, youre short on the bill.
When I ran wvw raiding with a guild as an engineer they used both power and condition grenadiers

these builds are made for group combat and don’t have very good sustainability but can pump out decent pressure, they also have plenty of room for playing around with different armors, traits, and abilities.
