Does HGH trigger from elixirs that get used at a certain health percentage? Also doe it trigger off the super elixer ability on the elixir gun? Just curious.

Drinking an elixir gives two stacks of might. Throwing an elixir only grants one. So an Elixir B (which already grants might) would give three stacks. If thrown, it would give one stack of might in addition to its normal chance.
Besides it’s a golden 20 sec duration of Might. Let’s say ur using Elixir H + Altruism you will be getting 5 stacks of might ^______^

^This. I created my own p/p HGH build and the damage i deal on single targets and even AoE (i use coated bullets) is insane. AoE burn,poison,blind,root,slow,bleed and confusion is not that bad imo.

I refuse to say it’s the best engy build in spvp, but it’s certainly my favorite. And for me, the might stacking tends to be a bonus that elixir’s survivability bring to a condition heavy build. Getting 5-8 stacks while running away, then turning around and dropping people with 4-500 poison/bleed damage ticks is just too fun. Still, a ‘good’ thief or mesmer can give you a big challenge, though most bunkers melt like butter (quotation marks depend on whether or not you consider stealth spamming good).
And, to restate on the op’s question, yes, the auto elixirs proc the bonus 2 stacks of might, while elixirs from elixir gun do not. Also, potent elixirs don’t increase duration of HGH, however it does work on the auto elixirs.

While HGH isn’t nearly as good as seems to be commonly believed, it is still very good as a trait selection compared to our other options. There are potentially undiscovered better builds out there I’ll agree, but as it stands now Condi-Burst (aka HGH Condi Nades Pistols with Geomancy) is a competitive build that matches up alongside the rest of what is viable in tPvP. It’s not necessarily because of HGH, but going down Alchemy for Elixir self-utility (boons, condi-removal, quicker Elixir S) is not something I’d dismiss as wasting points. Are there ways to better stack Might? Sure, but HGH is a single trait that grants a whole ton of Might which is a surprising return with such a low opportunity cost.
HGH is triggered off the automatic elixir drinks as well, so you get two stacks of Might for those to answer the OP’s question. It’s not triggered off anything from the Elixir Gun.
As an aside, it might even be less viable in PvE because time spent chugging Elixirs is time not spent necessarily dealing damage. This is just quick conjecture though, and at least I personally don’t make a habit of chugging elixirs on cooldown when I use the build for Dungeon purposes.
Yes it does. I use fast acting elixirs, 409 and HGH. You can really tell with the drink B at 75% minor trait, it helps a lot with might stacks.
And as far as builds go HGH with a battle sigil and rabid ammy is almost unstobbable. I prefer battle over geomancy because geomancy mucks up the playstyle so much, I switch between nades and pistols all the time, no matter what the range. I kite an kitten, and while geomancy helps in specific fights it would be stupid to suggest it’s better in larger scale teamfights. Plus, battle already gets an additional 30% boon duration on top of the 40% I get in runes. It gives me 20-25 stacks of might in combat easily.

Tbh I think the biggest mistake people make with the HGH build is spam all their potions at once and then have them all on cooldown during the fight. A HGH player will pop the buff ones first and the utility ones later.

Yeah that was a rough lesson when I first started running the hgh might build. As of now I use the healing elixir, healing tool belt and Elixer b tool belt right as soon as the timer starts, and the actual elixer b when the gate opens. The timer with getting the heal back seems to work with the start of the first fight. Grenades from distance, swap to pistol to proc more might and instantly back to nades until someone attacks you. Etc. that seems to be the best engagement pattern that I’ve found.

Speaking of EG, acid bomb says its an elixir as well, so I see your point. At least the antidote and stim from medkit dont say elixir, but these clearly do.

no idea about the health percentage but it does not get triggered from neither super elixir nor any “kind of elixirs” provided by the med kit

you can’t possibly think that EG should benefit from not just it’s own distinct traits, but also elixir traits and kit traits. And anyone who’s been playing this game for more than a week knows not to trust the tool tips.
