Hard to use function gyro to allies and etc..
Yeah, I have posted about this before myself.
Personally I would like to have 2 targeting options that I could bind to a key. One to tab through downed enemies, and another to just tab through downed allies.
Seems like the best all around solution in my opinion.

I guess you’re talking about WvW? Cause in PvE and sPvP you can just click their name on the party UI and hit "F".

And now please explain how we invite all of the 30+ people fighting the HoT boss into our party…
The only place where the function gyro mechanic is close to useful is sPvP.

Which is why I asked what game mode he was having the problem in, way to be rude though. And function gyro works great in dungeons, fractals, raids, and small group roaming as well. Not just sPvP. Also keep in mind the new squad UI is coming.
Any other questions?
I was talking about the present situation.
In dungeons/fractals 90% of the time the downed player will be right next to you, so you’ll rez him the “normal” way anyway.
Raids and squad UI are not implemented.
If by small group roaming you refer to WvW, the gyro will evaporate just as fast as in zerg fights.
Scrapper is the only elite spec whose class mechanic effectiveness is severely limited in 2/3 game modes.

I’ll leave the same thing I said to you in your other post here since you are a little slow to catch on.
Again, since you have trouble reading, I specified the Function Gyro is designed for use in group play. As in, you are in a group. Also, with the new changes to all minions across the board, Function Gyro now takes 95% less damage from indirect AoE cleave, meaning it survives just fine unless specifically targeted. And finally, even if the player is right next to you, having the Function Gyro means you revive the player even faster, or can assist reviving without having to stop your dps or ignore what is going on around you, not to mention instanced PvE content is changing quite a bit and things like this become even more useful.
And one last note, there is still potential that the upcoming Squad UI could very well alleviate the complications of using the Function Gyro during large open world events.

It is useful to spike in PvP and WvW, as well as aiding a downed ally. It is also useful in large PvE events to aid downed players. But if you are doing a large event such as the Mordramoths mouth, or events leading up to it, world bosses, or something like that, it can be near impossible to target and aid a player at times.

Function gyro is a gimmick as far as PVE goes. If you’re in a mass scale fight the person you’re trying to rez will bleed out or get picked up by someone else by the time you manage to target their body through all of the chaos. If you’re in a small scale group setting you’ll likely be clustered together where its much quicker and easier to simply rez them manually.
Why can’t I use it to rez myself? That might actually make it useful.
I’m no meta player, but Function Gyro has been extremely useful for my group of three tackling Fractals and other such content. :P It’s maybe not a fantastic mechanic for people who accept nothing less than perfection from their teammates, but for people like me who don’t mind having allies that enjoy finding their own way to play… It’s quite effective.
THAT SAID, I most certainly would not be opposed to some change making it more convenient to target allies in need of a Gyro Revival. XD
