My healing turret will frequently not activate the second portion of the healing skill, will not activate the water combo field, and often will simply not even activate. I will use it and simply put: nothing happens. The only way to fix it is to swap out another skill and swap back, at which point it goes on a 20sec cooldown. I don’t know if this is specifically in wvw, as this is pretty much the only place where i have been playing, but this is pretty game-breaking.
Unless you activate it immediately upon placing the turret, the regenerating mist goes on a timed cycle where after you press the button, it’s next revolution of the cycle will spread the mist, so it’s not instant, kind of like the “rate of fire” of the other turrets. It’s why most of the time you see heal durret dropped, mist, then detonated back to back to back.
If you’re referring to something else, then maybe it’s a bug, but just throwing that out there as a possibility.
The overcharge of turrets doesn’t take place immediatly after you press the button: you have to wait the next “cycle” for it to activate. You can avoid this delay if you buttonmash the skill when you put down the turret, in that case it will overcharge right after it’s been placed.
I returned to play engineer since the change to healing turret and sticked to it, it never failed to activate for me. Try to overcharge it right away and see if it still fails.
The new healing turet is quite unreliable in the high skill lag in many wvw situations.
I usually tend to hit the heal skill twice when i use it as quickly as possible. So it may be that I’m not getting some hidden ‘timing’ right.
The other issue is that I’ll watch the turret, watch for the overcharge animation (the spinning water jets), only when I use blast finishers nothing happens.
The final, and most important issue, is that frequently when I use the healing skill literally nothing happens. No turret is deployed. No healing is received. Skill goes on cooldown but nothing happens. It stays like this permanently until I swap out healing turret for another skill, then swap back. At this point my heal goes on a cooldown automatically (20seconds, the recharge time of the other heal skill, healing turret is 15seconds, not sure about swapping to other skills). This is the only way to fix this bug.
Either way, the bugginess and the hidden timing mechanics are things that need to be fixed. Since you only get one healing skill to stay alive this is pretty game-breaking.

You may have used the turret then walked out of range of it so when you use the skill nothing happens within your field of vision but the over charge goes on cooldown at the turret’s location. I’ve done this a few times.

Nope I always stay in range. I wish I could record my gameplay so I can more clearly show what I mean.

Weird…. I run mostly with med kit so I haven’t experienced this bug yet, though I am planning on switching to turret once I find a build I like it with.
i ve never had issues with the healing turret hell it even keeps me alive when flamethrowing gates in wvw .

I have a similar issue to the OP where I get no heals out of the turret and this may explain it.. you are saying the second press of the heal button (6) must occur immediately after the first press? If there is a delay between the presses then the water field may not go down immediately when you press the button the 2nd time?
Also, you do need to delay the detonate after the 2nd press for a second right? i.e. mash 6 repeatedly and then pause briefly F1 to detonate? Thanks, I have been using the healing turret but sometimes it just doesn’t work and I’m pretty sure I must be doing soemthing wrong probably with the timing.

if you detonate too fast you ll destroy it before it even heals or gives you regen boon
if you hit 6 after it did its regen spray effect will take 3 seconds to proc as it activates on next spray i’d say you just need better timing.

Overchage didnt heal…
I rarely get that bug where it dosnt trigger mist on double tap. And when i do get its because there 100 something on screen doing all sorts of crazy stuff, but even then im rarely on the front line (grenades) and it still triggers just fine.
Any chance you guys been under fire doing the double tap? Iv fought dd eles, thiefs, mesmers, rangers who did an aoe attack just as i pulled the healing turret which broke it down instantly, and i got no blast aoe heal. Its incredible weak.
I can vouch for this. I never use the overcharge skill, but what does happen a lot is that I don’t get a blast heal when using my blast finisher. It’s like the Water field does not get triggered. Quite annoying. But it might be the blast finisher itself (my shield & elixir gun jump) as that doesn’t always trigger regardless of the shield (and no I’m not too late). Same thing happened again today in a dungeon in a Mesmer Bubble, no Chaos Armor. Darn it.
