Q:
Healing Turret & Water Field
No. I cant tell if it is intended or not so I dare not to say how to do it. It can be done pretty easily.
I still have trouble timing it. I try and use the Mine on top of the turret, and time for when it pulses, but half the time the combo doesnt go off. I wish the animation was more obvious and corresponded better to when the actual field is up. But I have done an explosive combo off it earlier today, so its still there.
Edit: If thats what SideStep is referring to, I dont think its a bug or exploit.

I tried it with mine too and failed every time, it feels like the field is only 1-2 seconds long?
The reason I ask is because there is nothing in the Tool tip about it being a Water Field Combo. The only thing that I can see has a field is the Toolbelt (Regenerating Mist) which is very hard to pull off. The simplest way that I can think of pulling it off on your own would be to use the Thumper Turret Toolbelt (Shockwave) straight after Regenerating Mist.
Is the Healing Turret working as intended?
If this is the way it is meant to be working then how long is the field meant to linger? It seems to dissipate almost immediately meaning that it is almost impossible to be used by other people as well.
It works. You just have to time it shortly after the handle starts spinning.
Place your healing turret and when the handle on top of it starts to spin, blow up the turret! It’s such a cool combo.

Great to know – I will give this a go when I get a chance.
I have a question. I had assumed since sometimes it gave the finisher and sometimes it didn’t that it was tied to the Healing Mist skill. The turret says nothing about a combo field, but the Healing Mist does. I always blow up the turret when I need quick healing and the overcharge is down, so I always use Healing Mist at the same time by pressing the F1 key more than once. I thought it was a timing thing with Healing Mist’s circle coming up before the turret had gotten far enough into it’s explosion. That’s why I thought it was unreliable, because the timing was VERY sensitive. Is it possible to do it without using Healing Mist? Because I’ve never seen it happen. Before I learned that it is possible to cause the Combo myself that way, I had never seen the combo happen on it’s own but I just blew it up at the end of the fight without using Healing Mist. If anyone has reliable and tested info, please let me know.

I will test it out later today and see what I come up with…
It is far too sensitive, they need to give us a stable water field

The healing turret generates a water field very briefly every time it fires. The field only seems to last for a fraction of a second, so you need to time it very precisely, much like Regenerating Mist.
The turret fires immediately when you drop it, so you can perform the combo very reliably by dropping it, waiting just a moment and then detonating it. You can also combo off it with whatever else you feel like, but the timing is tricky (with the exception of that first firing just after you drop it) because the field is so brief.
I would prefer an additional indicator than just hoping to catch the effect animation to trigger the effect.
Rendering does become an issue when facing greater than usual amount of players in a location, and depending on just seeing the mist isn’t helpful.
I can pull it off fairly reliably, i guess the toolbelt skill is actually what the turret does itself, but the turret does a stronger version (lasts longer) like how the other toolbelt skills are a standard shot, a rocket, a net, a ground thump, etc. So when the turret initiates its regen, it is actually using ‘healing mist’ and so a water field is created. This means your indicator for detonating the turret is right when the regen is applied to your character (it is not straight away, i can put my turret down and pick it up faster then the turret can fire).
You can see the timing by watching the short timing circle flash it produces on the ground everytime it will give health.
Thats your cue.
As other have stated, as soon as you drop it, wait half a sec(I think is a second, trying to be precise) and destroy it. Insta Heal, regen and another heal for the water combo.
It’s extremely hard to time to the point I just gave up. Randomly helping me and my group is about all can be hoped for. I questioned whether it existed off the turret and thanks for answering that mystery.
The toolbelt kit is really hard to time as well but I found I could more reliably get it to fire by keyboard macro. It still fails sometimes even with that step taken!

The turret itself does not provide a water field and has not provided one, if it ever did, for a long time. It’s the toolbelt skill that provides the water combo field.

Wrong. Equip Healing Turret. Press 6 (Healing Turret). Wait Half a second. Press F1 (Detonate Turret). Enjoy Blast + Water Field combo.

This guy is absolutely correct. Not sure if it’s intended because it doesn’t say anything in the tooltip, but it definitely works.

I do this all the time as well, it actually makes the healing turret for me.
