Simple question, do you get more value(heal) out of the standard double tap + detonate or from picking it up?

By triggering cleansing burst we get the heal and an added water field, so if we detonate it we get an extra heal through the blast finisher but receives a 20sec cd. On the other hand, if we dont detonate the turret and pick it up, we get a 15sec cd but do not receive the bonus heal. Sooo yeah, which method gets the most value out of the heal?

In general detonating the turret is worse because it results in an overall lower hps than just picking it up and also makes the condition cleanse less frequent. However, detonating the turret is still very useful if you a) Need to heal an ally, b) Are low enough that picking up the turret might not give enough hp to survive to the next cooldown, or c) Are using the blast finisher in a different field.

There’s more short-term benefit to drop, overcharge, detonate, but more long-term to drop, overcharge, pick-up, and maybe more to dropping and leaving out, but it’s not like Turrets are worth leaving out unless you’ve traited specifically for sustained or on-heal effects.

When I’m running Turrets (I’ve started branching out lately, because holy crap do they suck in the new zone, where positioning, get this, matters at all), I tend to use Healing Turret by dropping it near an enemy, overcharging it immediately and detonating it to heal myself while damaging them, with potential for crowd-control if traited.

Depends on 2 things

1: how much healing you need & how fast
2: Will that extra damage (and knockback if traited) down an enemy.

If you need more burst healing then its worth it to detonate when water field is out. If not then leave the turret up.

The only reasons to leave HT out is for the reflect if you traited Fortified Turets (pick up or blow up after shield expires, ~4 sec.) or for the Vigor if you traited Experimental Turrets. And even then you only lose 33% or 50% uptime on Vigor when picking/blowing it up.

Otherwise the only benefit you get are a few ticks of regeneration at the cost of losing the heal when placing it (the only part that scales with healing power btw), being immobile and losing a blast finisher/increasing the cooldown if it is destroyed.

The cooldown of the overcharge is almost identical to the cooldown of the turret when picked up, therefore always overcharge the HT immediately when placing it.

If you need a large burst heal, blow it up and follow up with some more blast/leap finishers – the water field stays after the turret is gone.

If you need sustained heal and condition removal pick it up – the water field disappears together with the turret.

I would just say you should think about how long the fight will be. If its a short fight you are better of blasting it but if say…the enemy is a bunker then you should pick it up just to sustain better.

I’d say only pick it up if you can do so within 2-3 seconds after overcharging. Otherwise, you’re way better off with detonating it, since the cooldown between heals/cleanses would be equal or even longer without the additional benefit of the combo-heal. Also, chances are that if you can’t pick it up, your opponent is standing near it, so detonating might actually even hurt them/knock them back if traited. Which also speaks for “only pick up if you can do so almost immediately”.

Place the healing taurret
Click on it again for a cleansing wave
Click F1 to detonate during the heal wave for a blast finisher big AOE & Self heal

I’m using a SD build most of the time, so I just detonate it every time without thinking much.
