The fact that all old skills dont generate any heat makes them useless in a holosmith build..

Is this a bug, or intentional…

I think that only Holo mode skills generate heat. Shame is that other skill don’t profit from heat level mode – which is shame. – or some skills should have + effect over 100% heat.

why do you want utilities to generate heat….you will be constantly killing yourself…cant even sustain….

and holo utitlies dont generate heat either..

Well none of the abilities besides forge generate heat but I’d like to at least see the other weapons benefit from heat like the sword does.

At the very least offhand weapons should have some synergy with heat. After that, I’d look to gadgets, elixirs, and turrets in that order (or all of them).

The heatmechanic is good with the 3rd grandmastertrait you also can use the effect permanent not bothering to heat up again when you once reached 50%. I also see no point to make the overheatmechanic available to everything mostly because the sword is melee the other weapons not and hammer is not available anyway. so only possible offhand would be shield to give it any effect. The Pistol shouldn’t get an additional effekt as it allready has high burndamage.

Heating up to above 50 and then never going back into PF mode is a terrible idea. If you are taking GM3, you should be blowing up as often as possible and relying on laser’s edge to boost things like your kit rotation. The spekittenerally lives and dies by using PF. The meager benefit the heat adds to sword and the utils does not outweigh the PF 1-5 skills.

Also, most PvE condi engis are not ranging and pistol 4 is better up close anyway. Shield has needed attention for a while and some synergy with the spec mechanic would make it a more serviceable offhand. I’d also only focus on the offhands to help make sword a more attractive weapon to use.

Also, frankly, the heat synergy doesn’t always need to be more damage.

Rifle should gain some benefit from heat levels. The weapon has a long time needing some love. Just making Overcharged Shot unreflectable would go miles toward making engie more diverse.
