So I have a full ascended zerker set on my engi, but it’s way to squishy and I’m looking into other options. So far I want to get a celestial set for all around versatility, but I wanted to check if there were other, better options. I would be using it for general PvE, maybe a bit of dungeons/fractals.

I’ve found that using a mix of Berserker and Knights really does the trick.

As the posters above me have stated, just mix soldiers knights and berserkers til you are comfortable with the damage/sustain ratio.

For PVE i have Knights Armor and Berzerk Trinkets or for condition rabid with sinister or viper.

Is celestial considered useful in pve or is it a bad idea ?

Rabid. If I recall properly is about 10% loss respect sinister (that before food nerf) meta build.
Just be aware that you may mess the aggro in a future, but you doesnt look like a raid player so….

Learning English, any correction is very welcome.

cele is a bad idea in pve (power-ish build)

this game has so much active 100% mitigation that a bruiser only does ~50% of the damage of a glass and doesnt really survive much better. being a bruiser is only a thing when you are forced to take hits, and in pve there is always a way to get a reprieve because mobs are inherently dumb and do not learn how to keep hitting you.

on the other hand, when focusing on a condi build, using rabid or dire over sinister (or viper) is fine because pure condi damage is pretty much all an engi needs to reach the max dps thresholds of its power equivalents. sinister/viper just surpasses that threshold by adding more power damage and, of course, sacrificing utility versatility.
