I don’t think they have out right said we are not getting any new kits with the elite spec, but I personally don’t think we are.

Now a problem I see with kits is that seeming they are basically mandatory in all game modes, that they will always be better than other skills we get due to being designed with using them in mind. So an issue might be that it might not really matter what new skills they give us if we still have to take multiple kits to be viable on any serious level of game play.

Does any one else see this as a potential issue?

And I don’t dislike kits, or that we got to use them, I think I might get a little bored of the class if I gotta use the same kits for HoT seeming we have used the same ones since the game launched.

Tl;dr Kits are good, too good that we are required to use them, so new skills might not ever see the light of day, unless ofcourse they do introduce new ones through out HoT or the elite spec.

It depends on how good Hammer is. And even if you want a kit it’s not like you can’t use a kit in your elite spec.

I mean heck, there already are HGH builds that don’t use kits and they’re not all that bad.

Kits are too versatile at what they do. Sure, we don’t get a second weapon, but 1 kit should have been enough to fill that gap, yet you see triple kit builds (soon to be quadra kit). We are not forced to take them, just that they usually tend to be the best choice. I’m sure other classes would appreciate them just as much, if they had access to them.

As for the elite spec, equipping the hammer and new Mortar gives you both melee and ranged options without sacrificing your main utilities. Even after slotting a second kit leaves you have 2 open slots left, so there’s room for the new skills, if they are good enough.
