I’m hoping we get something that cements our usefulness for a particular need in the party meta. Rangers have spotter, warriors have phalanx, hoping forge gets some group buff trait that’s unique to them so folks will say, yeah an engi is nice cause it has this and only it can provide it.

Maybe a prolong boon aura?

Tired of having to “explain” the value of an engineer to a party whom all say but X does that better.

I suppose I would also accept such incredible damage that we’ll be wanted because we far out DPS anything else …. (joking)

why do you think engi comes last altough being mentionned the first – cause best comes last

i bet forge is all about protection and burning so it might have trait that works like phalanx expect with protection.
When you grant yourself protection, grant it to nearby allies as well.

i was actually also thinking about protection…burning im not sure since engi already has burning…i think it will rather also play into the explosion trait line but with a hammer…

I’d rather not see us entirely dependent on burning as I see a burning nerf in the future. I’d like to see something more raw dps oriented, though wishful thinking.

Not just protection, I see very much aegis too. Maybe we will get back armor modification (with some buffs). The datamined skill icons look very aegis spamming too.

Firearms has 2 solid melee traits, so IP isn’t out of the question.

Can’t give up alchemy in the current state of PvP.

Not sure I would give up Explosives either.

Soooo Alch, expl and firearms? next problem is why the hell the rune gives crappy toughness.

Back to topic: Unique party buff for forge

Maybe they will make armor modification to a party buff? Whenever struck, the party members get aegis (15s ICD). That could be really nice to have.

Hope the engineer won’t. Experience show that whatever unique party support ability a class has, the guardian will sooner or later receive, just superior. ^^

Facet of Nature

Pulse Naturalistic Resonance every few seconds to nearby allies, increasing their outgoing boon duration.

The other five facets pulse boons to nearby allies, but Facet of Nature is used to boost other facets, allies, or traits and skills you may have equipped. This pulses out a unique effect that increases outgoing boon duration by 50%. Having it active while pulsing out other facets will provide more uptime of the benefits, so even if you switch legends, they’ll still last. This can pair well with other profession builds—a shout guardian, for example.
