Any tips on how to run a bomb kit build? Like, dos and don’ts? Rules? How to? Anything really.

For me the hardest parts are just to land the bombs I place, as most people with any wit will simply move. I’ve tried using various things like slick shoes to keep my opponents immobilized but to not much success.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Run around in circles.

Since you said people are moving, what application are you using them for? Sounds like PvP, sPvP or WvW?

In sPvP if you try to roam with bombs you’re gonna have a bad time. However bombs are great at point fights, which is what most of sPvP is. It quickly becomes obvious what type of build you have to any competent opponents, but it still leaves them in a bind: do I stand outside the point and try to kill this guy letting him cap it or rush in there and try to contest? Bombs are (obviously) good for point capping as long as you have some defense and can live through ranged pew pew. Tool Kit is great synergy with Bomb Kit, you can Pry Bar while you wait for bomb cooldowns and the Gear Shield can keep you alive while you run into the fray our away from ranged attackers. Also the Box of Nails helps keep people in the area and of course the Magnet pulls them straight into your bombs if they get out.

Net Turret works great with Bomb Kit, it can do the Immobilizing and you don’t have to do much of it yourself. You still have the toolbelt Immobilize though. Glue Bomb is great, and Slick Shoes like you said all for keeping people near your bombs. Rifle is a good weapon to pair with bombs because of yet another Immobilize and the Jump Shot can help you close that initial gap. Pistol is not bad either for another AOE Immobilize or if you’re using Shield a nice reflect for the aforementioned ranged pew pew and a nice little daze to keep people from reacting as well.

One note about Slick Shoes. Turn off melee assist in general options! I didn’t even know that existed and for months I was so frustrated that I couldn’t actually run through people. It was so frustrating, but once I turned that off Slick Shoes became awesome again.

Adaman summed it up nicely for sPvP. The bomb heals are nice too, even though they are a bit weak (160ish heal per bomb sans healing power).

In WvW bombs are trickier. You have to setup fights to your advantage. Pick areas that limit their ability to range you and get very innovative in your los breaking. Bombs are pgreat for the guards/mercs/siege though. I suicide in and take out that cata hitting our door all the time.

With the new kit refinement I’ve been practicing a really difficult combo, and I’m getting better at landing it, it goes something like this

Run to a crowded point, throw ex s for stealth or stability, once in the middle bob, swith to bomb kit, bomb, bomb, once players are sucked in, grenade barrage just before bob goes off..

Yesterday I literally blew 3 players up,

Lots can go wrong but I think with practice you can make it work
