I can't stand how far away the Shield hovers.
I get past it rather quickly any time I knock a Thief away and prevent them from using CnD, or reflect the Sneak Attack from a P/D Thief and make them bleed themselves. Bonus points for Confusion stacks from the Interrupt (Perplexity) on both 4 and 5.
I can’t live without a shield. It’s just so versatile.

Wear a bigger shield.
Bigger shield = less noticeable.
Depens on the shield, race aswell armor. Lionguards shield for example is terrible.

I’ve honestly only noticed this with one or two shields, and they were ugly shields anyways. Even those were not as exaggerated as you’re making them out to be, I think you’re doing yourself a disservice not using the best weapon in the game for this reason.
