I was curious how the stacking of a few speed boons given to Engineers work (if they are working at all, as intended).

Legs Mods is a 10% increase to speed while using an unarmed kit in the Tools Line.

Does that stack with swiftness?

Does Leg Mods stack with Power Shoes, 10% increased movement in combat, (you run 20% faster in combat with an unarmed kit, before swiftness)?

Does Slick Shoes toolbelt skill stack with all of the above (it seems to…I think…) ?

I notice a difference when I gain swiftness in combat, but it is unclear how much faster I am moving, or slower from normal->combat. Other than eye test (which is tough for an Asura), I don’t know how else to test it.

Any clarification on player speed (and the effectiveness of speed buffs) in-and-out of combat would be much appreciated.

Anyone use (live by) these traits or skills?

Without definitive testing, I feel I can’t ditch Power Shoes without shooting myself in the foot.

I don’t think it’s possible to move faster than swiftness allows you (a rune set does bump swiftness up to 40% movement speed though), so leg mods doesn’t stack with swiftness.
I’m not sure about the rest.

Slick shoes tool belt skill is a faster then swiftness.

Poor craftsman blame their tools. Poor players blame their Engineer.

Yes.

I use 6/6 rune of the centaur + medkit and I usually have 1 minute of swiftness stacked at all times effortlessly. Hit medkit and swiftness triggers from centaur, and then drop a bottle from the kit. Easy. So easy that I dropped speedy kits as it was no longer needed.

But I’m trying, Ringo. I’m trying real hard to be the shepherd.

Swiftness stack in duration, so no matter the source, you will be adding extra duration to any Swiftness you already have. There are some bugs involved in Swiftness stacking, but so far I’ve not run into any as Engineer.

Swiftness from different sources will stack, Swiftness from the same source (Guardian’s Symbol of Swiftness) only refreshes the timer.
