Hello, I’m getting back into my engineer, and I’m looking for a good build that uses the rifle. I like rifle for PvP, as I’ve tried p/s and p/p, but I still always go back to rifle. I’m just having a somewhat difficult time finding a good build. Been experimenting with a few, but I feel I could do better. I would take suggestions to other builds, though. Not looking for a bunker build, really, I’d like dps with some decent survivability. Thanks in advance!

currently there is no valid answer since everybody is playing around with the new runes and traits.

i recommend you to do the same or ask maybe in 2 months again.

For this build MedKit has slightly better synergy than HT (at the cost of the water field and 1 condition removal):

• main heal resets @ 25%
• might stacking without wasting the actual heal
• fury

While I agree with you in theory that the med kit should be better in several cases, in practice, the time lost swapping around and using all the different skills is time that isn’t spent applying pressure to your opponent.

Healing turret packages almost everything up into a tidy little 0.5 second burst. Even just the base heal of med kit takes a full second and heals for less overall, not including the water blast finisher (and without using that, recharges faster as well).

I die a little inside every time I take healing turret on a power build when I would love to have that fury, but healing turret is just that much better, especially in the current condi meta.

Should I consider a condi build instead? I want to be viable in team and solo queue, but have fun.

There’s also the little little detail that if you get immobilized, you can’t use any of the 1-5 items that are dropped by the kit, whereas you can use the other heals. Or rather, you can, but you’re just staring at them blankly in front of you like my dog stares at its food when it’s hungry. (She’s silly and stares at it for 10 minutes before eating it)

You need to play differently with MedKit vs HT.
Use Stimulant before you engage enemies not in the middle of the fight.
Pre-stack 1-5 on point when out of fight capping/guarding or drop while moving from/to a fight.
Dodge/block immobilize or use rifle #4.
