With burn now stacking in intensity, base damage was reduced in account of that, and since Incendiary Powder give only up to 5s of burning on 10s cd its impossible to stack it with this trait alone, doesn’t it means that this trait become rather weak GM trait?

uh.. no? 2 stacks of burning.
it increases ALL burning by 33% (including itself)
so its 6.5s of burning by itself. + any other condition duration/burning duration you have.

The damage output evens out at around 1083 CD at 2 stacks. If you are a condition build incendiary powder is mandatory 100%, as it also increases the duration of burning from blowtorch and the fire bomb and whatnot. If you’re celestial instead, its optional, but you may get more mileage out of alchemy or tools instead, as inventions and explosives both seem mandatory for celestial build right now.

Its interesting because engineer seems like the only class whose meta isn’t completely obvious after the patch yet. But as for IP, its not at useless, but it depends on the nature and focus of your build.

So it 2 stack per trigger from Incendiary Powder? I can’t currently get in game since my graphic card is dead, so i can only check the info on the sites but so far none of them stated that is 2 stack per trigger.

Granted, I’m running Balthazar Runes and a Sigil of Fire (the other is Earth), I maintain 1-2k ticks for burning damage pretty consistently with the Incendiary Powder trait.

Whenever I want to kill a Husk in the Silverwastes, I press Incendiary, Throw Napalm, Blowtorch. Then I just move to something else because 5k burn ticks do the job pretty quickly.

It’s not useless… but you cant expect miracles from a single source…

I use it….. with balthazar runes, sigil of smouldering, offhand pistol and flamethrower.
not to mention the flame turret in supply crate and projectile finishers through FT#4.

Then we’re cooking on gas! >:-)

Its considerably weaker than it used to be but I would not say its useless.

The biggest issue I have with it is that its considerably lower access to condis post patch for Engis vs other classes..

What made use strong prepatch for condi builds is that we had access to a lot of different condis, but not a lot of everything, bleeding is good but bleeding is weak now, very weak.
A mesmer can ramp up Confusion and Torment to a rediculous degree, a thief can ramp up poison + bleed to crazy levels, eles can ramp up burning like MAD.

So yeah, I think condi Engi is being left behind by the condi changes.
I will say that if you do go condi, it may be a good idea to run something other than nades. FT toolbelt is real good for burning, bombs are okay if you can use fields properly too.
