Incendiary powder...
It’s not the skill, burning is a little out of control atm.
That’s incendiary ammo just a fyi, powder is the trait that gives 2 stacks every 10s.
But, yes it’s working as intended. Guy should have brought condi clears.
it’s a 50sec cd. they deserve to die if they didn’t bring enough (one) condi clear.
currently a Boyfriend main :P

agreed. One condition can do a lot of damage, but it takes 1 condi clear to wipe all the damage that it would have done. I wouldn’t look down on the poor mesmer that failed to cleanse that condition, we are one of the worst condi cleansing classes after all.
one other thing to add… gl against crystal skin on elementalists if you’re full condi… that thing needs a nerf since its a pretty ridiculously hard counter to condi builds.

On paper it sounds good, but inreality it’s different. Most decent engineers bring filler conditions.
If we are going to be fair here how much access to burning do we really have? Not much. I mean you miss your next attack and its like it didn’t even count. Not saying burning overall isn’t a major issue but we really aren’t part of the problem. We can legitimately only use it as a big burst with skilled play on a long cd (not the 2 stacks every 10 second trait).
BTW op not being rude but if you feel it is op do not use it. It is fine to skip skills if you feel it ruins the fairness off a match. It is actually kind of …noble I guess.

IA == 6 stacks (50- 42.5 sec cd)
ICP == 2 stacks (10sec cd)
Blowtorch right in the fact == 3 stacks (15sec cd)
Correctly executed we have a initial burst of 11 stacks. That in itself is much, but has a long cd, and is nothing compared to the potential of incinerator eles and burning guards.
The difference is that we can cover it up, since we have relatively easy access to various conditions & come with a lot of defensive cd’s to survive in melee. Even tho we have lower access to burning than others, we are able to pull it off much easier than them, therefore burning-centered play is much more viable for us than, say guardian, who are not able to properly deal with cleanse-heavy opponents.
So yea, burning is extremely overpowered currently, hence you see so much guardians suddenly trying to run condi builds.
The difference is, after they’ve nerfed it, it will still remain a rather powerful condition, and therefore we will continue to profit from that greatly. For other classes tho, reduced burning effectiveness means less yield, compared to the power-builds they also have access to.
Keep in mind that even the current marauder-nades build still gets ~20% of its dps output from the condis it applies.
Prepatch, dungeon powerbuilds had a even higher portion of their dps coming from the condis on our burst skills.
Even tho we have access to less burst-stacks, we were always one of the 3 classes with the most effective condi-builds. And since the changes to condi-stacking, FT has a much more solid spot in condi-builds than before. And I don’t think that will change after the nerf hits

I actually hope the nerf is applied to applications and not the condition itself.
High Risk/Reward play like IA + Blowtorch can then still be viable.
Incindiary Powder is the only thing making condi engi even slightly useful.
