So Engineer has a problem with conditions. An answer to this is a boost to “Elixir C.” While it transforms all conditions into boons, it has a hard time dealing with people who stack a mountain of condi back in the few seconds that you get boons. The answer? Add 4-5 seconds of Resistance (The new skills that null condition effects for a short amount of time.) to the skill “Elixir C” after it is used.

What do you guys think? If it sounds good, I need people to be on board to give the approval.

It’d be nice if we had access to resistance that didn’t tunnel us even further into alchemy to sustain against conditions..

I wish they would switch Elixir R and Elixir C’s F2-4 skill. It would be nice to roll that elixir and have the ability to possibly become an engi that can banner allies. It would be a perfect fit on the toolbar. Either that or throwing the elixir adds more resistance to whomever it hits.

What do you think?

Perhaps changing Throw Elixir C to gain 3~5 seconds of Resistance instead of converting two conditions could work. It would make some sense thematically, would give some extra time for Elixir C itself to get off cooldown and would make Elixir C more viable with builds taking Tools but not Alchemy, or at least taking it into consideration if the opposition is condition heavy.

Although technically, you could use Elixir C when you have Chill on you to convert it to Resistance.

@Renny: Even though I admit it’s a bit annoying having to pigeonhole oneself into one traitline/utility type to cover a flaw, I see it as some sort of balancing factor; if you want to be extra-safe in a condition-heavy environment, you have to take these traits and utilities; if you just want to blow people up with raw damage, you have to take these other traits and utilities.

If I were going to give Engi Resistance I would probably change the Toolbelt of Elixir H to grant Resistance (in addition to it’s random Boons). That would mean one less skill that’s 100% RNG. Not sure of the duration and potential recharge increase necessary to keep it balanced though.

Personally, I think “overshield” (shield trait that lowers cooldown by 20% and gives 3s of protection on shield skill use" might be a good place to add resistance to. Giving shield skills more of a solid and equivalent defensive value.

I think med kit’s resistance potion thing needs to last much longer, at least 5 seconds. Med kit is already weak and needs some loving.

If it converts the right boon you’ll get resistance.
