Guild Wars 2

Hello, everyone.
I am getting into GW2 and I have decided that I’d like my first level 80 character to be an Engineer. I think they look like a lot of fun and challenging, which I like. But what I want to know is other people’s opinions on Engineers for beginners. Also, is there a build I can focus on that’ll allow me to be more DPS? If not, Tank maybe? Since I’m new, I don’t know much, so if I seem ignorant, you know why.

I think its funny how a build that causes so much kittenstorm for me (pre HoT) is now an easy meta build.
You cant believe how many times I got insulted as a noob for this, even if I was doing the main damage.

fun fact is: This build has the same power and playstile like it has pre HoT.

For real. I also used this build pre-HoT – things come full circle.

Pre-HoT you had to actually concern yourself with Vulnerability though, and that’s why the Nades engi was meta, and the free might stacks were usually nice. The being called a noob, well that’s just the dumb attitude that’s always been in the game. What I find funniest is how many people I see around now on Power Engi who just a couple months ago laughed thinking I was joking when I talked about power engi.
