Is carrion a good build for engie?
I think you should still use Rabid.
The healing will be more effective if you have more Toughness. In addition, prec/tuf/cond is very nice. Plus, vatlaaw’s set is nowhere near like the price of khilbron’s.

It should work fine for you. I prefer carrion to rabid myself, but you have to go rabid for the accessories since there’s no carrion stats on those. Using the combination helps keep a nice balance between vitality and toughness so you’re more hearty against a burst and have better survivability against condition damage.
If you do want to focus primarily on elixir gun usage, then rabid might actually be a better choice than carrion… It will depend on exactly what kind of build you go for. But carrion and rabid are very popular and effective choices for engg.
