I think the healing bombs are gone forever, replaced by Bunker Down. What sucks about that is you are forced to choose amulets with high precision.

While it was an interesting trait, I think between bunker down and soothing detonation their goal was to have a replacement of sorts. Problem is it’s not. Soothing Detonation needs a buff. Be it doubling (maybe even triple) the healing because we simply don’t have that many blasts to make it even remotely comparable to the old bomb heals, or make it every type of combo such that Mortar kit becomes the new Elixir Infused Bombs with it’s projectile triggers. Any way you look at it that healing build is gone right now, it’s sad, but it’s true.
So they catered to the rifle, yet we did not get pistol 1 skill to register as an explosive, as was previously suggested to us. And as mentioned, no bomb radius change either. How unfortunate.

Pistol1 needs much more than being made an explosion, its’ literally the least they can do for the skill.
That was kinda weird to only remember half of rifled barrels but so far so good.

Engies got knocked down so bad from June 23 patch that whatever non-nerf we got today got me stoked.
Good stuff to see. I think the Mesmer nerfs were the best change for us though. =P
It’s all nice buff for us, but it won’t give us back our place in the meta PvP. Engineer is a hard profession to master, it deserve to be better than what we are now.

Metabattle may not say that engis are “meta”, but they seem to be prevalent enough in EU tourneys to fit that definition.

Rampage duration from elixir x got reduced with 25% (just like warrior’s rampage), not that it matters much it’s still great and way better then that tornado rubbish.
Yea…but I’m ok with that. Since warrior’s rampage got nerfed, I don’t feel like I HAVE to run Elixir X every time I see a war on the enemy team and even if I do, I don’t HAVE to save it for the warrior to pop Rampage.
And really, it’s just fair. We still have a much lower cd on X than warriors do and the full duration rampage really wrecks too hard. I’d rather win a fight by outplaying an opponent than winning a 50/50 RNG cointoss and then spamming 1-5 anyways.

Yeah, but we’re on average getting one rampage every 168s, and warriors once every 144s. In addition, we have the AoE moa and the very situational tornado.
Elixir X > Rampage

But I don’t understand, pistol is clearly a condition weapon and benefit from the firearms trait line. If pistol 1 is an explosive attack, wouldn’t one need to trait into explosives to get the most out of the autoattack?

Ehh, all we have to go on for that is the preview and they let us know that the skills were in flux.
I do not think they intend to make it an explosion anymore.

I need more condi removal. Fix EG please (#4 and Toss does not remove condi) Or make Elixir C a stun breaker
EG is not bugged. The Trait says you have to Toss or Consume it. EG 4, 5, and Toolbelt dont Toss or Consume. It works like it should. But yeah, i would love to see that they change the Trait so it can remove condis.
Ever since the update my flame jet ( ft #1) seems to shoot into the ground (aligned with my camera angle ) when i have no target and im pressing the right mouse button (anoying when fighting against stealth). Do others have this same problem?

Don’t really care if metabattle say it’s meta or great tbh, since the trait patch, it just can keep up with the new build and I don’t follow EU tourney. All I know is that Engineer is my favority profession to play and it’s a lot harder to do good thing with it now.

Cause its meant to be an explosion. If they don’t want to do that any more then they should buff the base skill to compensate.

Here is how I always look at it. Ele is more effective than engineer in pretty much every game mode right now. On the flip side, Engi is more fun to play.
So basically you have to decide between effectiveness and fun.
healing bomb was really powerful, thats why there is probably no way it will be back with bunkerdown around, cuz healing bomb + bunkerdown is pretty insane

I thought for quite a while about Engineer vs Elementalist…
Play Ele if you want to win, play Engineer for the fun and knowing that you can really master the class. On paper, Elementalist is better in almost every single way.

The increased Range for rifle also inflicts harpoon gun but not like it was before pistols and elixiergun.
So first of all yes it is a good change as we needed the range on rifle. Rifle is now even stronger than before the traitlineupdate therefore thumbs up.
Thumbs down as pistols remain weak like hell and lost there strongest traits for range and for piercing! the explosive thing is not needed but coated bullets was essential for pistols to be good.
Good for me as i love my Predator ^^
