I have 100k karma and some gold (Not much but will farm).

What would you all recommend I pick my gear up at?

Welcome back! Your build looks like a typical HGH p/p build that is popular. You would benefit from a set of Power/Vitality/Condition damage gear, IMO. I use carrion gear, but its for a grenade/bomb build. The bleeds from pistol lack in duration, but they hit so often that it doesnt even matter (I am more of a condition player). You can look up where to get the exotic karma accessories that are up for sale in the temples in orr, straights etc.

You actually don’t have to spend any money on Condition Damage gear.

Rabid gear can be bought fully with Karma from different vendors in Orr, including jewelry. That’s what I did.

If you do wind up needing more Karma and have karma jugs handy: Don’t forget to pop a Karma booster and Karma guild banner! I hear Ice Cream’s 5% karma boost also stacks (Haven’t tried it personally yet)

No idea if Laureate boosters add another stacking effect, but I’m saving my laurels for other things anywho.

Dwayna = Back, Amulet, Rings, Earrings
Balthazar = Helm, Gloves
Infiltration (Arah) = Shoulders, Coat, Gloves, Legs
Grenth = Coat, Legs, Boots
Melandru = Legs
Lyssa = Legs

42,000 Karma each. The rings have no jewels in them, so I’d upgrade them with ascended gear if you really want to maximize Rabid stats.

Try around 7pm in the evening, Most servers will have a lot open at those times. Also friends might be able to help you get to them on other servers.

Works great for finding open temples. Better than guessing, at least.

Also, rabid rings do, in fact, have an upgrade slot. Not sure why that disinformation was passed.

Edit: also you can purchase any type of gear (berserker, soldier, rabid, etc) from the new WvW vendor for a little coin and some WvW badges. This might be useful if you have a stockpile of badges. Also the vendor contains free skin transmutes to some of the common skins (glyphic, etc) that will save you a Transmutation Crystal. Wish I had known this before transmutting 2 glyphic pistol skins. Oh well.

I meant to say their gem slots are empty.

I just put Exquisite Chrysocola Jewels in mine. You cannot have Rabid/Rabid stats without ascended gear like Marriner’s Flask since to-date no such jewel exists with those stats (though I would personally go for the V/T/CD ascended gear).

Is rabid gear only accessible from Temples and WvW? If one does not wish to grind the karma and or WvW tokens, is there an alternative?

Caudecus’s Manor and Twilight Arbor both have Rabid armor sets that can be bought with tokens.
