Just noticed I rarely die on my engineer.
Yes engineers are very hardy. One time, my whole dungeon party died at the boss, so I had to solo kite it and do minor dps while the NPC did more
Soloing underwater champs are easy if they are not ranged.

yup, i actually finish experience survivor with my engineer without me knowing it and it was on the time when i’m at lower level.
i was just reading the forum, then saw something like people is having a difficulty getting that achievement and that prompt me to check my achievements then i’m surprise that i’m already done with it.
veterans are easy for engineers and they can solo some champions. the almost perma swiftness and vigor helps a lot, it can even make you dodge every attack a champion throw. supply crate also add to your survivability.

I only have trouble with surviving when I get caught with my pants down.
Like in WvW last night when a group was useing a glitch to teleport PAST a door they were suppose to break down. However taking on more then two mobs does get very hairy. Even with turrets.
=\ i die alot but i constantly get flack in vent for running into mobs like a mad man. But if i dont have a small army tring to kill me there is no challenge….
When I compare my Engineer to my Thief concerning surviveability here is what I think. My Engineer is much easier to survive things and doesn’t require as much attention, but if I am paying attention my Thief feels just as surviveable if not more in some situations because I run dual dagger and skill 3 gives you evade every time. Plus the Thief kills things faster.
There is 1 thing that my Engineer can do much much better than the Thief though. He can waltz through areas (not fighting) that my Thief cannot because I take the kit swap trait for swiftness. Even with the sigil of 25% run speed and using heartseeker, etc for traveling my Thief can’t travel better than my engineer with his perma swiftness and self healing/cond removal.
So yea, I die less on my engineer overall because it takes less attention but when I’m actually trying the Thief survives just as well if not better.
