Right now I am using all Power/Crit/+Crit Damage Armor and same with my rings, my accessories and amulet has some vitality on it but not much. While this puts out some awesome damage, I am very much a glass canon and am prone to getting 1 or 2 shot in dungeon runs.

In order to be a little more resilient in dungeon runs and in WvWvW (until I get the specific gear for it) I was thinking of getting the Arcon set which has the following stats

Power 214
Precision 72
Toughness 152
Vitality 224
Condition Damage 0
Healing 101

I was then thinking of loading it up with eagle runs (or orbs) that brought the Precision and crit damage up.

It seems like a balanced set but I would like some opinions before dropping the 252k karma for everything.

Mix and match karma gear for power/vitaility/toughness?
Jewellery with power/precision/crit damage?

If you want to survive in dungeons you need 20 in alchemy for cleaning formula, no questions asked. With 20 in alchemy you have a decent HP pool.

Now what type of damage do you want to do?
If you want to deal condition damage then go with full rabid, which is precision, toughness, condition damage.
If you want to deal damage with grenades then go power/precision/toughness.
I find rifle to be more useful as a CC tool in dungeons than a damage source so you can build survivability with that and pack an elixir gun for even more supportive abilities to go with your CC.

20 into alchemy for cleaning formula helps, but it isn’t totally necessary, as a kit refinement elixir gun does the same job and only requires 10 in tools.
Switching to both traits would help immensely on any heavy condition stacking bosses/mobs though.
I find one of the best ways to survive in dungeons is to have a steady supply of vigor. If you can manage it into your build, try picking up the traits infused precision from the firearms tree, and invigorating speed from the alchemy tree as you seem to want to have a decent crit rate. Vigor should be up for around 90% of each fight and having 4 dodge rolls instead of 2 has saved my kitten plenty of times.
Another way to survive can be through regeneration effects. Try running backpack regenerator, kit refinement, and elixir gun. Stack both super elixirs on top of each other, use elixir guns toolbelt skill for regeneration, and start shooting with elixir gun. It’s a very easy 500-550 health/second regen for you and a 400-450 health/second regen for allies in your combo fields and it only has a 10 second downtime. This is also with 0 healing power.
Or take all of the above into a build and your survivability will increase dramatically.

That is just plain factually inaccurate. With kit refinement and elixir gun, you can AoE remove a condition from yourself every 20 sec, and use antidote. That is just for yourself. Fumigate lets you keep conditions off of everybody else at all times.

Poor craftsman blame their tools. Poor players blame their Engineer.
