Kit Choice for WvW Kit Builds
Brace yourselves. Perplexity engies are becoming the new FOTM!
Just kidding.
If you use P/S, you can do fine without toolkit(It still is nice kit to have, though). But, you’ll probably want EG for the extra condi cleanse and stunbreaker. Rocket boots are really nice, but EG gives you one pretty good leap too. And from those kits Bomb kit is a must if you actually want to stomp in 1vX situations.
Just experiment with different kits to find a set that feels right.
Just out of curiosity, why don’t you include Granade kit on that list? With IP and Forceful Explosions you’re already 20 points into Explosives, and 10 more points would give you one of the best kits engies have.
WvW Roaming with Mesmer
To be completely honest with you, it is whatever you want to roll.
I roll Yishi’s build too. He generally calls for grenade, bombs, and EG, right? I roll TK and rocket boots with bombs. It is COMPLETELY whatever you feel comfortable with.

Becoming? They were the moment they were released. That being said, i have them on my Mesmer and thinking about a build with them on my Engineer so lets hope it doesnt get nerfed to much hahahaha
Kits wise, i run:
Roaming: Flamethrower, Elixir Gun
Zergs: Flamethrower, Elixir Gun/Grenades(situation depending)
Keep/Tower : Flamethrower, Grenades

I haven’t seen enough perplex engineers yet to consider them FOTM.
Offtopic: I fought one P/P perplexity thief yesterday. Now that was a frustrating fight.

Perplexity Warriors have to be the worst, insane mobility – 9! yes NINE stacks of Confusion PER an interrupt as well…
I wonder how it works on a AoE attack, does it proc the first person it hits or ALL that takes the damage – i am thinking of Flamethrower Auto attack
Hey guys, aftering watch some vids of kit Engineers such as Yishi, I’ve decided to main my Engineer (after getting ascended weapons for my necro and mesmer…. sigh) The kit builds seem like so much fun in WvW (I previously had my Engineer as HGH and HATED maintaining might stacks)
I’m using a mix of Dire and Rabid right now with Perplexity. I have ~25% just so I can proc Incendiary Powder (otherwise I would do more Dire, anyone with less crit have trouble procing it? I may try using more Dire) Thinking about trying Noble runes but seems like it has the same annoyance factor as HGH.
I was curious for your thoughts on kit choice. I am particularly interested in Bomb Kit, Toolkit, and Elixir Gun.
More specifically… I need to pick between Bomb Kit and Toolkit, Elixir Gun and Rocket Boots
Sigil of Battle + Noble Runes + Enhanced Performance is a very easy might stacking combo. Just run medkit and swap it in and out every so often. You don’t even have to use any of the skills. In a condition build I think the perplexity bonuses are better than extra damage from might stacking.
I’d pick bomb kit, toolkit, and elixir gun from the choices you listed. Bomb kit and toolkit are must haves. Rocket boots offers easy to use mobility. However, elixir gun gives you some mobility and a whole lot more.

I didn’t include grenade kit in that list because that’s 100% in my build
…Bomb kit and toolkit are must haves…
I disagree with the TK. I very rarely use toolkit on my condi builds, and I’m doing just fine.

Granades+Bombs+EG is very good combo. When I run condi ‘nades, I usually replace EG with rocket boots when I’m solo to get away from zergs. But I use Melandru runes and/or -condi duration food then too.

I’m only looking at the four skills on the OP’s list.
