I have not played every other class but grenades seem to be one of the few that you have to aim every skill on the bar. Underwater you can target mobs but otherwise you need a slide rule and a wind gauge.

If grenades are auto targeted but still arc, then they can be easily walked out of.

I am a grenade user and would not want them to direct target on land like they do underwater, I don’t want it to just become a more powerful pistol if the grenades fly straight.

Grenades are only as strong as they are because basically you are expected to not hit all the time. With proper targeting I’m pretty sure they’d nerf the damage. This is why personally, I like my grenades how they are. I would appreciate an auto attack setting that just pushes that button for you in long pve encounters, but other then that, manual targeting pretty much has to stay I guess.

I don’t particularly care for npc/player targeted grenades. I’ve done some extensive farming underwater with grenades, which uses npc/player targeting instead of ground targeting. The problem with npc/player targeting with grenades is if they are running toward or away from you at a fairly shallow angle, everything is smooth. As soon as your target strafes or starts moving perpendicular to your line of fire, all your grenades will miss. That’s too much of a liability for me. If grenades were made to be npc/player targeted, I probably wouldn’t use them anymore for this reason.

Yes, auto-aim wouldn´t do good.

But I wish they would add auto-attack – only preventing the #1 mashing – while keeping the ground/mouse-pointer targeting.

No! If they did that then they would have to nerf grenades. I love that all grenades are ground targeting based. It rewards skillfull playing and is challenging. Also the travel time for grenades is just where it should be. Easy to avoid in pvp. I wouldnt mind an autoattack feature but keeping area targeting.

Imo grenades are one of the best mechanics in the game wich rewards risk vs sacrifice playing. Keep grenades ground targeting Anet. We love our grenades. Just give us auto-attack so we don’t develop karpaltunnel.

It i not one of the few, it is one of many that is all or a majority of ground target AoE. Elementalist and necro’s staves are like that. Other classes have GTAoE spread out among various weapons. Some professions have weapons that are not all GTAoE but are have 3-4 on certain weapons.

Poor craftsman blame their tools. Poor players blame their Engineer.

The fact that they are 100% ground targeted on land makes them extremely powerful in the right hands and situations. If they spread in an Arc they would lose almost everything that made them good in the first place (ability to concentrate a large amount of damage in a specific area).

Leave them as they are, they don’t need any adjusting.

Don’t need any kind of change. We’re one of the few classes that can provide a steady stream of long range AoE damage, if not the absolute best AoE long range damage dealer. Have to have some drawback to it or it would be too powerful.

No no no thats the bets thing with grenades that you can throw them were you want even if you dont see anyone there, i use them alot to throw up at walls to hit players going past or hidding at back and that you cod never do if you had to aim a player.

Yeah people really need to stop asking for this. Grenades are fine the way they are- practice using them in combat/on moving targets and you’ll do much better.

I hated ’nades when I first started using them.. but after quite a bit of pratice on static targets i freaking love them. They need to stay as they are.

No.

1. The delay in projectile speed would cause them to always miss…
2. They have 1500 range with Grenadier, they need to be full AoE to balance that out.

Try out the Combat Mode mod, it made grenades a lot easier and more fun to use.
