I have been thinking of making an engineer although was not sure if having two of us would kitten our damage. With the conditions and max stack etc, or can any one else recommend something new build or should I look at another profession? Currently playing mainly a trap ranger although I tend to be the first one the enemy targets, while they don’t pay much attention to the engineer. Not sure if it is his short asura race and me being a taller fatter human or that they see ranger and go yay free loots. Thank you gang!

Since burns and poison stack duration, whichever of you has less condition damage will be hit kinda hard, damage-wise.

Personally I think Mask’s build, though recently nerfed, has decent enough survivability to support duo’ing with a craftier profession, like thief or mesmer. Your friend can keep them occupied while you burst em down and create a lot of mahem.
Or you’ll be better with a bleed-stacking profession, or better yet, you would go power. Or heck, Mask even runs with a tanky guardian (norn) to keep the bad guys occupied while he does the damage, so that’s an option.

Max condition stacks is not an issue, as you will probably never hit 25 stacks of bleeding on anyone before they’re dead. Overlapping burn is a major problem for duo-condi-engi teams, though.

If you go with two engineers, I’d make one rifle.

I agree with what NevirSatDie, you can make some silly strong HGH power builds as well, and running a rifle in such build together with a HGH condition build should be quite powerfull! You would bring a lot of CC to assist your friend with!

^ consider a sitting duck build with net turret! You’ll be able to stack 20 vulnerability with ease, and with some more work you can reach 25! With the extra condi duration (explosives?) you can keep it up for a while!

Keeping the enemy at one place for 10 seconds is always fun :P

Keep in mind it’s a little bit old now the video, so the gear I used in it ain’t on par with what I use now! was ony level 78 Exotics (got a ful level 80 exotic set now, and the superior sigil of battle), but as you will find in the video, it’s still quite potetn!
