Looking for Ingi Rifle Pve Build
If you really want to be useful for your team in PvE, better take grenades, bombs and the elixier gun or the tool kit depending on situations. Trait for explosives and vulnerability stacking and you will ouclass every rifle engineer.
Also the rifle can just carry one sigil at the same time, with pistol and shield you got bloodlust and battle aswell reflection, block and a combofinisher explosion wich can be used for heal turret heal or fire bomb might.
The rifle itself deals only good damage with 3 and 5, wich skills have a too long cd to be focused on it.

Op, sounds like your looking for a static discharge build.
Your goal here is to focus on using tool belt skills, because they will send out a bouncing bolt of lightening upon use.

It’s probably the best rifle build for soloing and open world. It’s not even too bad for dungeons to be honest. You should give it a try, even if I personally really dislike it after playing it myself for a weekend.

Considering the changes announced for December 10th, this might be a nice damage build. Only downside is, it has almost no defense, so you have to be very careful.

Mork, the problem with that build is that none of tool belt skills are target able, this limit you to a very pigeon holed situation in which you have to be directly in a vertical alignment on your screen with your target.
I have hoped for a long time that they would fix this issue with static discharge. I recently came to understand it would never happen. Because then it would be so valueable in so many more builds, that the devs would look at it as they do with Incendiary Powder.

Regarding Defense: SD builds can use skills like Rocket Boots for escape/chase movement and Goggles for a stun break. Adds a little defense. Also, with traits like Sitting Duck and Hair Trigger, you’ve got Net Shot on an 8s cooldown, dishing out immob & cripple for awesome control. ToolKit is always used and it has a 3s block every 20s. And since you’re going 30pts into Tools, you can grab Adrenal Implant for +50% endurance regen, meaning more dodges.

I know, but with 30 explosives / 30 firearms this is the only trait left, that increases damage. This is not really a SD build, just leftover points spent, the damage comes mainly from rotating the heavy hitting skills and stacking conditions for Modified Ammo.
Rotation would be something like: Glue Bomb – Fire Bomb – Smoke Bomb – Acid Bomb (cancel jump) – Shrapnel Grenade – Ice Grenade – Barrage – Blunderbuss – Jump Shot.

Rifle builds do not require explosives traited if I’m right.

Correct. After Dec 10 we won’t even have access to IP so you probably will have 10pts to put wherever your build is lacking. If it’s defense, you’ve got Protection Injection & Protective Shield for instance. Exploit Weakness for more control or chase downs.
@Mork: if you’ve got 10 pts left, there are far better traits to take. SD will literally hit your target 5% of the time since none of your toolbelts are targeted abilities. Better to take Speedy Kits for swiftness, especially if you’re going to be using bombs.

If you plan to make excessive use of rifle’s autoattack, then yes. The problem with pure rifle-SD builds is, they have poor sustained damage. The burst is really nice but afterwards you’re stuck with the autoattack for several seconds. And one burst ususally is not enough against veterans / elites.

Okay, you make a good point with the static discharge. I have to ask though, why use food and oil but stop at 80% condition duration. In my experience it is better to do 50%, 100%, or put your investment into direct damage.

Now that I think of it, Kit Refinement might work nicely with this build: Magnet Bomb to stack’em or Glue to trigger Sitting Duck.

This is just for high vulnerability stacks / high condition uptime for Mod. Ammo. You only need full seconds duration if you are planning to use damaging condis for their damage. This build mainly uses them for the 2% damage boost per condition. Remember that bosses have a 50% condi duration reduction and e.g. Steel Packed Powder only gives 5 seconds vulnerability.

And that’s why you better don’t go for rifle at all :P
