Looking for an updated PvE leveling build
Yeah. Rifle, Bomb kit and FT: Thumps up. Also, EG has a “hundred blade” like skill called “acid bomb” which you should put also in your rotation. EG#5 cleans condition althought not explained on the tool tip. It also gives you a break stunt ability. EG is f**** amazing.
As for a guide, I remember that one from guru. Maybe is no up to date, tho.

EDIT: Oh yeah, the new unlock trait system, sucks.
rifle, healing turret, rocket boots, speedy kits (trait in tools), and bombs
the rest is kinda whatever you want… try things and have fun

QFT. Speedy kits is amazing too, and it’s in the first tier of traits you’re able to unlock. Get that first, imo.
Forceful Explosives (in the explosives traitline) is another first tier awesome trait that makes bomb kit even better. Precise Sights or Fireforged Trigger in firearms and Invigorating Speed in alchemy are also strong traits you’ll be able to access early on while leveling.

It’s not. Sorry. And I probably won’t be updating it either. It’s just such a headache updating after every feature patch.
Does the actual weapons that we choose have any influence on the overall damage of our kits? Or is our weapons just buff items for either Power of Condition builds?
Phineas — Thank you for posting that guide of yours. It’s still a good source of ideas.
What in the world did they do to the Trait system? Sheesh.
After trying out rifle, pistol/pistol, pistol/shield, EG and FT, I’m finding FT to be fairly decent which I don’t understand. All the posts that I read about FT state that’s it’s terrible. I found rifle to be pretty meh followed closely by pistols. I’ve been swapping between Bomb Kit and FT while exploring the world. I’m looking forward in unlocking Toolbelt to see how that is.
How is the Mortar elite in WvW?

How is the Mortar elite in WvW?
- weapon rarity affects kit base damage multipliers
- trait system sucks now
- those posts are likely from before ft 1 got a 33% damage buff. ft auto now competes with rifle auto for single target dps, but it hits 3 in a cone instead of 5 in a line which is arguably better. bombs do about 50% more dps in a circle to 5, and its wayyyy better than ft once traited for larger radius.
- have fun some with mortar then dont bother any more. crate outshines everything.
