I could use some suggestions on some SPVP engineer builds. I have only been pvping for about three weeks, and don’t fully understand all the mechanics yet so putting something together myself is going to be a fail. I’m looking for something well rounded that I can just have some fun with. Any suggestions?

I’m not sure if the Engineer profession in general falls into the ‘well rounded and something easy category’. It probably has the highest or near highest learning curve of all professions in the game, but the builds that you can search to get started in sPvP:

1) HGH Grenades
2) Static Discharge Build

HGH is by far the most well-rounded but the learning curve is steep if you’ve just started playing… Static Discharge is easy to pick off targets here and there but has a higher learning curve as well to do well in 1v1 situations…

Either way I think if you stick with the profession you’ll find that it’s one of the mokittenn to play in the game.

Steep learning curve on HGH? HGH is all about getting the right gear, sigils and runes. After that it’s just facerolling. I am not comparing with other professions, but with other Engi builds.

The people that say that are usually used to hotjoin teams that have no idea what’s going on when there’s an Engie standing on a cliff tossing grenades down untouched. It’s a steep learning curve once someone adequate actually targets you and aims to take you out.

From there, you better know your stuff. I’ve yet to be defeated by these elite HGH nades Engies 1v1 with full cooldowns, they just don’t have any mitigation for CC, and often their moves are on CD in their attempts to keep their might stacks up. Only the very elite like Ostricheggs have been successful on a regular basis 1v1 with such a build, and with the recent nerf to Elixir S, even that has taken a slight downgrade.

Furthermore, I would say having played the game for three weeks makes any good Engie build a steep learning curve compared to the other professions in general.

But what you are saying is something that goes in general for the entire Engineer profession. It is a hard profession to play, but of all the builds that are currently around, HGH is the most faceroll. It is the easiest one to do well with in PvP and WvW.
