Hi, I’m playing an engenier that is currently lvl 48 and I feel quite overwhelmed by the amount of kits and turrents and stuff you can choose.

At this moment I run this build with a rifle:
Elixir H, Bomb Kit, Tool Kit, Elixir B

18 – V-Incediary Power

10 – II-Fast-Acting Elixirs
10 – II-Static Discharge

Most of the time I use the Bombs. For exploring the world it feels OK but for dungeons I don’t know. I have the feeling that I miss something (for lvling and for Dungeons) and after the recent patch I’m even more confused.

Any advice you can give or build you can suggest?

in dungeons you could swap bombs for grenades if you feel melee range is hurting too much. But grenades aren’t that strong before you reach the grenadier trait. Still, they work just like bombs… but from further away.

Do you crit enough to make incendiary power worth it?
If using bombs, you could swap to the bomb-range trait in the same spot.

Another nice combo open to you is:
- vigor on swiftness
- swiftness on using a kit

gives you a lot more dodges and mobility, in or outside of dungeons.

You could get the med kit instead of the elixir H, it’s a very nice package for solo healing an selfbuffing.

Once you open up more traits and get better stats, you can start looking at elixir builds, condition versus power and all of that.
For now: keep it practical, things will die no matter what you throw at them… your main concern is: you should NOT die

As Kimbald said, Incendiary Powder isn’t worth very much if you don’t have a decent crit chance. When running with BK, Forceful Explosives will probably be worth more, or Shrapnel if you switch out for Grenades.
Also, Static Discharge has buggy targeting, and won’t work right when toolbelt skills that don’t have an enemy target (like thrown elixirs) are used. Since you only have 1 enemy-targeted toolbelt skill, Throw Wrench, Static Discharge won’t do very much. Speedy Kits is really nice for movement, and combined with Invigorating Speed will allow you to have permanent Vigor as well.

Oh for future reference, Scope is broken and does not work at all, so if you ever get 20+ Tools don’t bother with that.

Just out of curiosity – what is a ‘decent crit chance’ ?
I have an 80 engineer running with a random FT build in pve, but I’ve been meaning to switch to nades. My crit chance is around 49%, but my gear isn’t exactly maxed for precision.

So, what would you consider a decent crit rating? And how much would be max crit chance for engineer if we got all +precision gear?
