Machine Gun kit?
Given that the auto-attack would be a channeled attack with multiple hits…
retaliation -NOPE
I like the idea of a permanent elite-kit we can swap to at any time a lot, but it must be something reasonalbe that is not entirely overpowered, else you will see nothing but engis camping in such a kit…
lets take the original idea of a Gatling kit and make it into something worthwhile…
I would have 2 idea… one power-based kit and one condi-based kit.
Lets start with the power one:
The cannon kit.
- Cannon Shot.
1s channeled attack
1.2k range
20% chance being a projectile finisher
deals high physical dmg on the target
180 aoe range on impact.
reflectable, but extremely high projectile velocity - A: Shell’o’Bombs
7sec cd
1.2k range
Fires a closed clusterbomb on a target.
Very high physical dmg on impact
240 aoe range on impact
B: Explode Shell
Converts the #2 attack into a small carpetbomb
5 small bombs fly to random spots, close to the original targets’ position.
each bomb deals medium physical dmg in a 180 aoe range, applies 1 stack of bleeding for 5s and 1s of cripple - Overpacked
Projectile finisher
16sec cd
600 range
Fires one heavy projectile in a straight line towards the target.
Each target in its way receives medium physical dmg and gets launched.
Hits max 5 targets in a row. - Ride the Bomb
20sec cd
player points the cannon under his feet and propels himself backwards to a 600 range.
Blastfinisher
puts daze for 1s on up to 5 enemies,
cleans immobilize, cripple and chill
deals high physical dmg - Bombs away
30sec cd
2sec channeled attack
placeable AOE
1.5k range
480 aoe range
player points the cannon towards the sky and fires 5 clusterbombs.
For each clusterbomb being successfully fired, more bombs per second will rain upon the target-area.
each bomb has a 180 aoe range, deals medium physical dmg, applies 1 stack of bleed for 5 seconds and cripple for 1 sec.
The bombrain will last for 5 sec.
The condi-Kit:
Experimental Beam-gun

Player fires a blue laser
900 range
0.5 sec attack speed
hits up to 3 targets in a straight line towards the actual target
applies 1 stacks of bleed for 3 sec
applies 1s of vulnerability
deals small physical dmg - Decay
Player fires a purple radiation blast
5sec cd
600 range
45° conic attack
hits up to 5 targets
applies 3sec of poison
applies 5 stacks of confusion for 2 seconds
deals medium physical dmg - Let em shine
10sec cd
Player-centric aoe
480 aoe range
no cast animation, only a bright flash is displayer (like rangers sun spirit)
applies 3sec of blind and 5 stacks of vulnerability for 5 sec on up to 5 targets - Overdrive
30sec cd
Overcharges the Rayguns’ generator (some kind of flamy animation)
For the next 10 sec the auto-attack “Beam” applies 1s of burning to every target being hit.
“Purge” (clean) 1 condition every 2 seconds
After 10sec applies 5sec of burn to the player and stun for 1sec (the generator exploded)
Forces the player out of the kit and back to its mainhand-weapons.
Puts the asura ray-gun on a 30sec cd. - Emergency vent
60sec cd
Applies 5sec of chill to up to 5 targets in a 240 aoe range.
Clears 2 conditions on the player and up to 4 allies in a 240 aoe range.
If Overdrive was active:
cancels the effect of Overdrive immediately / prevents its generator to explode.
For the next 2 seconds the auto-attack “beam” applies 1sec of chill.

I would probably be inclined to treat it as similar to the mortar – it creates a fixed object that players can man. Alternatively, it could work like elementalist conjured weapons and the charrzooka – it spawns with a certain amount of ammunition, and once that ammunition is expended, it stops working.
