Not sure if its lag or what but its annoying.
I think it is also the cause of my prybar followup missing like 75% of the time.
I have since switched my rotation to use prybar later because of this.
Same issue here. Also have this problem w/ Spectral Grasp on my necro. Sometimes the immune thing is caused by Aegis, but still has issues when Aegis or Stability is not present. I rarely have this issue in pve. It’s almost always WvW so I agree with CriSPeh that’s it likely a lag issue.

There was a “routine maintenance” patch today. Sounds like maybe some back-end thing to try to address skill lag could be causing a timing issue…

I’ve always had this issue too, it seems the pull stops if the target touches the ground, I think the arc of the pull should probably be increased slightly to make it more reliable.
have you noticed that you if start pulling a thief right before he casts shadow refuge, not only do you pull him out and reveal him immediatly but also.. he warps all over the place? it also happens with rangers that use that stealth on cc trait, you pull them and they warp around like crazy (even if you cant see them, when they do reappear they are no where where they should be.
it’s a prediction issue I guess, the server doesn’t send you the correct information. sometimes we get misses for no reason at close range if you prybar immediatly after magnet too.

My favorite it pulling a Mesmer and something causes me to get yanked backwards the same distance as the Mesmer, so they end up where I was and I end up a Magnets length back.
I really liked when this happened at hills and I went of the cliff to my death.
thats not a bug tho, its their trait to mirror the cc. should pull you the other way tbh! :p
same happens with necros that use that trait, but they autofear you instead.

Same issue here, all started happening when this skill lag thing came out. Even if the pull is successful and the enemy is right in front of me, the prybar will still miss.
Perhaps the character is already out of range when the prybar skill registers?

Well, the fix to culling issues left some annoying lags. The pull… has some conflicts between your client and the server, I’d hit my target with the pry bar even if he was only pulled for half the distance, sometimes the reverse happens, sometimes it has troubles registering the pull, sending the target back where I pulled him from.
There’s definitely something wrong with the way the “Pull” code registers. Another thing to notice is, I’ve never see it affect Mesmers, I’d have to ask around though.

The worse for me, worse then all the half pull, the pull into the sky ect…
Is when a target appear “Immune” to the pull.
I had it happen a lot of time, It happened a lot again Ranger, I don’t know the reason.
They would be running away from me, I would try to pull them and an Immune message would appear.
They have no buff, no nothing on them. I only get an immune.
It’s annoying.
Is there something about Ranger that I’m not aware?

I had the same problem with warrior’s heartshaker, too.
And with Magnet Pull. But that is from the beginning of the game. So many Prybars wasted… also because sometimes the target is pulled behind you

the damage immunity thing also makes them immune to pull. I had a couple of footage of that random ranger immunity and was trying to figure it out myself too, Im 90% sure its their immunity to damage skill. You can see that happening on my last vid too.

Same issues here when i pull someone in WvW. Don’t matter what class i’m pulling, it still does it about half the time. Missing when they are clearly in range, pulling halfway but still hitting with prybar, pulling all the way then warping back somtimes all over. Thought it was just lag on my end, but apparently not.
Haven’t really tried it since the patch last night though.
My guardian stalls halfway through leaps (greatsword) almost 1 in 4 attempts, usually because there is a slight bump in the ground between her and her target. This is probably the same issue.

Actually I’m not sure man, there’s a big chance I was wrong.

Its a kitten nightmare. Sometimes they end at my feet, sometimes they arent CCd and can dodge out of the pull (litteraly, while being pulled). Sometimes they dont get moved at all and i was 110% sure they didnt have stability or aegis. Sometimes they get pulled but end halfway, or even behind me while i didnt even move!
And the almost rare times they do actually land at my feet, Prybar still misses half the time!
When there is a bit of lag, this skill becomes almost unuseable.
When using this the target never quite gets pulled to me. I have step forward a few steps to whack them with my prybar….is this normal?
Last night in PvE using Rifle #4 or #5 against a Vulture Raptor, had it teleport quite some distance away and out of combat! And that wasn’t the only instance of magically teleporting battle participants. Definitely some client-server timing issue…

I believe there are at least two separate issues:
1. Magnet has problems with anything besides completely flat terrain.
2. There are some odd rendering issues that sometimes make the target appear to be in front of you when they are actually not.
Also, stability, protect me, “on-cc” traits, etc.

True, I guess I should have clarrified it was more something I thought was funny and not a bug.
Yet another thing that self CC’s Engineers and sends them backwards.
We should have a trait called rear view mirror that always has a little window looking behind us!
The “halfpull” is usually due to the player trying to use some action as they’re being pulled, kitten’s annoying.
I wish there was a Magnet Turret…
