I used med kit a lot on berserker build for easy acces to swift/fury.
Now they made it so you actually have to throw med kits instead of auto dropping them in front of you. I never picked this trait because imo it was the most enoying trait there was. I use instant ground target so now i have to move my mouse cursor near my character if i want to drop a med kit item and half the time some1 else picks it up in the mass or i walk past the item not picking it up at all. Next to that to it forces me to keep my mouse cursor near my character if i want to properly use my med kit.

I like the rework they did with it, but this way i dont ever see me using it because of the poor mechanics on how to use the kit. Plz make it so it auto drops in front of you character again or put an option to turn off this messy way.

I like the changes they made to the medkit, except groud targeting. Its too clunky to use now.
Trying to drop them infront of you while running around is just annoying.

I’ll stick with the turrent.

And the #1 skill’s throughput is so low that you’re pretty much better off doing absolutely anything else than channeling this ability. It might have had a niche use in self-casting while kiting, but it’s not self-targetable.

Aside from the toolbelt ability, everything about Med Kit in this patch works out to one step forward and two steps back.

I think the skills themselves are fine, but the ground targeting functionality, is unnecessary and clunky.

The previous version was easier to deal with, and worked under water. I would much prefer the ability to use this skill underwater as well.

Also annoying: The Medkit doesn’t work unterwater anymore due to ground targeting. So we only have 2 healing abilities left for underwater, since the turrent doesn’t work there neither.

Ground targeting Medkits are POINTLESS! Its ridiculous how devs present that like allies support (in plural) while it affect only one person. Bandages are so small that everyone missed it anyway. This is another totaly unwanted and unnecessary change what just make Medkit even less viable now.

Except for the nr1 skill Med Blast, which is utter garbage, the new skills are a nice improvement. But please remove the ground targeting nonesense.

Yep, this is another one of those “WE MADE THIS TRAIT YOU NEVER RUN AND WE’RE GOING TO FORCE YOU TO LIKE IT!” scenarios.

No one ran packaged stimulants before, and I can guarantee you it’s not because it was so overpowered that engineers neglected it to give other players a fair chance.

If there was the ability to throw it directly at an allied target (or self, if targeting self) and having the dispensable affect them as soon as it hit them (or fall on the floor if it fails to hit them), that would be more convenient.

Otherwise, I’d prefer it to go back to the non-ground targeted version. No point in trying to cleanse my immobilize if I can’t pick up the immobilize cleanse I tossed two inches in front of me.

Well, I found one (just one) use for the ground targeting – throwing swiftness boosts to yaks for speeding them to keeps. But since I can’t really use the rest of the cleansing boosts reliably, I still run HT and only switch to medkit briefly for this small niche utility.

Of course, I could just alt to a warrior to do the same thing, and medkit can go back to being totally unused.

You could do this before, just had to drop it in front of the yak. Tossing it only saves you a few seconds of time at best, and increases the odds you accidentally place it outside of the yak’s path.

I did do a cool thing earlier where I threw the swiftness pack back to a mesmer falling behind the zerg. But then they ran right by it, despite the fact it was glowing and humming… -_-

I would rather them just bring back the old med kit, exactly as it was before. Nerfed healing, ground targeting, split condition removal, 12 second lifetime, and lowered fury. The new med kit sucks. Bring back the old one.

A niche healing power (due to the fact that other heals are nearly superior in every way) has been made WAY worse and will probably so little use it will be in the noise of their statistics.

Change this back, please!

I used to have stimpack on auto cast and it was simple just to swap to medkit and know it was being dropped in front of me while i could focus on not standing in fire.
not so much anymore :F

I appreciate what they are trying to do with the kit, but I agree with the overall conclusion of this thread:

No one has and no one ever will take the medkit purely as a group utility.

Here are my proposed fixes:

-Keep the ground targeting, but every effect/heal output by the kit should automatically apply to the engineer as well.
-A mechanic should be put into place to prevent the engineer from double dippling.

-Somehow allow ground targeting to be an option. I am quite frankly unsure of how to approach this one. The Necros have the same issue, so making it an option somehow would be nice.

-Completely redesign every skill in the kit to be PBAOE. The player gets the current advantages they get now, and their allies would get a mildly diluted form.

After having time with the med kit now, what I have really noticed, is just how often I place items in front of me, I do not pick up the items.

I really stand by the idea that the previous functionality of automatic placement, both functioned better and easier then the current system that was forced upon us.

I agree get rid of ground targeted med kit skills.

also medkit 1 is a complete and utter joke. even with maxed out healing an traits that synergise with it. its still an utter joke.

give back med kit in slot 1 and increase medkits back to 1k base heal. that’s what made it so nice to have. u had smaller mini heals on 10 sec cd and a bigger heal on 20 sec cd (toolbelt)

now I only use my medkit for the 17 sec toolbelt skill that works with kinetic battery (pve its a life saver if it all goes wrong) I don’t even bother with the skills due to ground target.

also when running and using the skill infront of me. I just end up running past it cos its travel time is so slow it spawns behind me when THROWING it in front of me.
