This has been annoying me greatly for a long while, alot of the Medium armors are just made for the agile Thieves and Rangers, the only armors that somewhat fits the Engineer profession are Sorrow’s Embrace armor, Orr Karma armor, Aetherblade armor and Magitech, and that’s about all the armors I saw which matched Engineer.

I’m not playing some wannabe ninja, I don’t want skintight pants with daggers strapped to them, I’m not playing a treehugger either, I’m a god kitten Engineer, give me some armor that says Engineer instead of Thief or Ranger.

Dont forget aetherblade too! But in that regard, I think anet had actually been listening to us. We ended up getting aether and magitech back to back which was actually awesome considering before we only had se armor at best.

I’m currently using the Magitech set myself, I had the Orr Karma armor before that but now I have no idea what other choice I really have besides SE armor(not a big fan of Aetherblade sets, love the weapons though, would never part with my aetherized rifle)

I thought the girls CoE armor was a good mix of sexy but still looking smart. I would love it if we could have some dresses of our own! ( not after anything too revealing though, leave that look to the light armor; although thr is about 2 light armor desses I would wear )

Of course it makes sense to wear leather, I’m not saying Engineer should get a different armor class, but I mean just look at HoTW and CoE armor for example, even Arah, those armors just don’t look like something an Engineer would put on.

The engineer class most closely resembles a mechanical engineer (with some chemical engineering thrown in)- works with tools and constructs things. Since jeans and overalls don’t exist in Tyria, leathers are the most practical clothing the engineer can get. Not to mention several monocle- like leather headgear skins to match the class

There should just be more leather armor with metal bits and bobs.

Let me see… I like the Pirate armour, I didn’t like the Magitech, didn’t look good on my Asura, I liked the Aetherblade armour, Sorrow’s Embrace Armour looks good, Rascal’s looks good as well, I like CoF armour, Heart of Koda looks good I think, I also like Commando’s, the Chest Armour of Assassin’s actually looks alright, Stalwarts Helm and Shoulders are quite nice, Rugged’s are also good as well….

I think that’s a pretty good amount of armours.

The male Twilight Arbor armor looks sylvari engineer-ish. :p Looks like there could be grenades stashed in that leaf bandolier.

At least you’re not Charr, you’d only be able to use T1 cultural without looking hideous if you plan on maintaining an Engineer-ish appearance!

Some people enjoy the dredge set of course, but that’s still too warped and gross for me :P

most of people seems to be happy with goggles or ugly reskins well im not, i want and a lot of people wants full helm like the one of SE ligh armor for engi more helms that cover the face just like the concept art on the tools trait lines , things like that not just stupid hats and goggles

go look at you engineer tools trait line and look at the backgroud tell me you dont like that helm ?

Dont search only 80 armor mix some crafting sets and karma world green/blue armors and you can get good looks for example this one:

I want a crazy alchemist look, and for a new kit that throws elixirs for dmg lol.

Here’s my engie, 1st set is SoE armor worn in the Mist for PvP w/ Noble Goggles, 2nd set is Aetherblade armor for Apothecary set for WvWvW, 3rd set is the Magitech armor purchased twice for 2 sets of gear, Dire usually accompanied by King Toad pistols or pistol/shield, and Zerker accompanied by King Toad rifle.

I don’t want to look like Darth Vadar, at most I want a welder’s face guard.

Everyone has different ideas of what “engineer” means. I came across an old screenshot from something I completely forgot (indicative of how bad it was). I played Hellgate:London and Engineer was my class. LOLOLOL! This whole time I was thinking that GW2 was the first time I played such a class. It was a ranged class that used hovering drones like pets. And a lot of the armor looked heavy with all sorts of masks.

Just do a google image search for hellgate london engineer.

lol (im a engineer) you dont want metal helm, but you want an aviator look omg if that you engineer taste then we are kittened …plus like chaba said everyone have different taste so…/ discussion, just we need to stay together and hope for new armor

I’ll agree to disagree cause I don’t think u’re the voice of Engineers either. Has this thread even had 20 unique posters in favor?

the magitech armor has all your engineer needs. or roll an asura. the t2 and t3 headgears seem to be what you all want.
