Consequences (Norn Warrior)
Andareil Stormbourn (Norn Necromancer)
This is my first attempt at making a build. My goal is a might stacking build. I think I have the armor right I need someone to critque this again if the build is terible please understand I am learning how to do this. My goal is for a good dps build. Need some pointers. I wanna knw before I start building the stuff. thank you
for got the link
your definitely going to need to take cleansing formula in wvw since you have low mobility one condo bomb and it would be all over for you but don’t worry you will get that damage back when the patch hits, I’d also focus trying to replace those trinkets with celestial which is so good with amight stacking engineer. other then that it’s pritty standard and in the right direction.
Well, if you want to make might stacking a central part of the build, you’d be better off acquiring runes that help fullfil that, such as strength, aristocracy, privateer, or hoelbrak runes.
Furthermore, you seem to have some emphasis on burning, although I feel it’s unnecessary for your build. Despite having boosted your burning duration, you won’t be getting any extra burning ticks aside from on your incendiary ammo tool belt skill, which is not your main means of killing your enemy. You’re likely better off dropping napalm specialist and the sigil of smoldering for other stuff.
A similar build to what you’ve put together is as follows: http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?fdAQFAUlUUp6q1ax+KseNSdhMqogOQiCiuWseA-TxBFwAZVC6U5njHEAL1fKt/QGdEAugAkCwqlRA-e
The primary changes are the trait selections, rune choice, and sigils. Instead of napalm specialist, you’d have hair trigger for reduced cooldowns on your rifle skills. This is important because it provides you with more frequent CC options (via net shot and overcharged shot), more convenient bleed uptime which is needed to get your +5% damage bonus from the target the maimed minor trait (applied with blunderbuss), and also lets you jump shot more frequently which is useful for burst damage as well as establishing position and utilizing combo fields (i.e. use with flamethrower’s napalm field for fire shield).
Other traits like precise sights or rifle mod could also be worthwhile here. It’s not that napalm specialist is bad, per se. It’s just that you wouldn’t be able to benefit from it as much with this particular build.
This also takes speedy kits instead of energized armor. You would lose a bit of power, but this allows you to maintain 100% swiftness uptime, which makes you more mobile that the +25% passive move speed from your traveler runes.
Strength runes are an obvious choice here since you can easily give yourself might whenever you want, which will mean you’re always doing +5% damage. These are very expensive, so you could always slot a cheaper might-oriented set like runes of the privateer, runes of hoelbrak, or runes of the fire. They all have their own merits, although strength runes are the best for stacking might and bolstering your direct damage output.
The sigil of battle is also quite invaluable in this build, so you should swap your sigil of smoldering out for it. This will give you extra might whenever you swap in and out of your kit, meaning you’ll be able to benefit from it greatly. The other sigil in the build I linked is a sigil of air for burst damage, but it’s not necessary. Something like a sigil of blood, sigil of fire, or sigil of strength would also work very well in that slot.
Consumables and gear stats can be what you prefer, although you’d generally want some kind of berserker/cavalier/valkyrie/knight’s combo.
That’s all I have to suggest.
EDIT: If you’re having issues with keeping conditions off of you, elixir C can always be slotted instead of elixir S. It’s a pretty big trade off since you’d lose some very valuable defensive utility, but if it saves you from conditions than it might be worth it. Unfortunately it’s always a bit hard to fit in condi clears with a build like this. You could take cleaning forumla 409 if you don’t mind sacrificing the 15% damage off your flamethrower, which could also help out. As it is, you’ll just have to make sure to use the healing turret properly.
