Moa doesn't really fit Engi
they should totally 50/50 that kitten. weve had to cry about rolling tornado over rampage for a long time. give us ooze AND moa. let the tears of our confused, dead enemies sustain us!

The moa isn’t set in stone. It could be changed to quaggans for all we know. Anyway, from the looks of it it’ll be long cooldown and short duration, so essentially just a 2-3s AoE daze to replace the one supply crate is probably losing.
I’m alright with Moa. After all, the engineer borrows certain skills from other classes, Elixer X in particular. Currently, you can Rampage as a juggernaut (warrior elite) or transform into a Tornado (elemental elite) so why not Moa, which is a mesmer elite?
Don’t hog all the humbling Moa morphs to yourselves, mesmers.
Blackgate WvW
Yeah, a big theme of Elixir skills is sometimes getting semi-random effects that are sometimes the skills from other professions.
Like how Elixir U would be either Frenzy (Warrior) or Haste (Thief) and Toss elixir U would create either Wall of Reflection (Guardian) or Smoke Screen (Thief). First one would still give you Quickness, and the second a wall to protect you from projectiles, but the particulars beyond that are unknown until the skill is used.
Makes me kinda wonder what the mass CC/disruption alternate to Mesmer Poly might be (if there is one). Thief Basilisk Venom? Ranger Entangle? A Revanant skill? Something original just for Engineers like changing them to Oozes?
They were already pretty weary about showing it in the stream, so I think there is plenty to possibly change. Also, they showed they were pretty open to naming and cosmetic feedback from the live chat. They are likely skimming the forums after the reveal for tweaks or suggestions cause things clearly are rough enough to play still.
That said, I think oozes is an excellent alternative to Moas. We already cramp the Ele and War style with Elixir X, we don’t need to cramp the Mes too. Though… now that I said that… it could be the fluff for the Elixir itself. Since Engis don’t use magic, they tried to recreate magic with science which is why it is so erratic.
Hm.

im under the impression that there will be a round of new elite skills for each class due to the care that josh was taking to make sure we didnt see him swapping skills… for engi, id bet on either a gadget elite or something to do with the new elite spec. so thats cool.

It should be Quaggans! Little Golems would be cute too but, Quaggans better.
I wonder how badly it will work underwater? Tuna everywhere, except the things you were trying to aim at.
Instead of Moa, have the “drunk” effect.
Change enemies into bunnies.
Who doesn’t like slaughter bunnies ?
I liked a suggestion in the mesmer forums; random super adventure box critters!
Why not just make is completely random, the person can become any number of creature/mob.
That would be great!
I’d prefer that as a joke skill.
Moaform AoE on a actually top sPvP class?
Yeah, make entire teams and www group be useless and transform them into moa!
just to be more OP in spvp, because we’re not enough
Oozes

Wat r u, casul?
Oozes

If it’s oozes, I want those pink and blue swirly oozes you see when you’re hallucinating in one of the Sylvari story missions (Trouble at the Roots, I think).

“Mentoring engineers / mesmers and showing you what you can do with your fantastic class!
Just pm me for my advice! Always eager to help!”
Moa morph for Engies! I’m sorry, but that’s just being lazy.
When you’re giving a class a new ability, at the very least do it in a way that is vaguely consistent with the theme of the class.
Ozze morph for the Engie, I can get.
Golem morph, even more so.
But moa morph for engies – get out of here!
How about transform them in mobile turrets?
How about transform them in mobile turrets?
Why mobile? Regular turrets should be fine. They ARE overpowered enough to need nerfs after all.

moa morph in general is a lazy skill … no fantasy, 0 design, copypaste? profit!

What part of placeholder is difficult to understand?
That been said, Elixir X (and Elixir U) is all about copying other classes’ elites. It’s part of the theme of the engi class.
^^ Elixir X steals Ele and Warrior transform elite, why not Mesmer transform?
I’m happy with moa. I’d be more happy with random furniture though.
Sylvari necro: ’i’ve won this, i’m a lich!’
Engi: ‘and now you’re a chair, flamethrower PFFFFFFT’
Please make this happen. For the children.
Don’t follow me, unless you enjoy being chased by angry men with sticks.
Power Build Condi Build
Between U and X, we copy skills from Guardian, Warrior, Thief, Elementalist and Necro. If we do get a Moa morph, Rangers and Revenants will be the only ones left.
On a side note, we also have access to the most fields, all except Ethereal and Dark. That’s provided the new Mortal retails access to the Ice Field.
As previously mentionned, Elixir X borrows from other professions, so why not apply that concept to the F5 skill?
Chance for Moa
Chance to give the same effect as Entangle, Immob and Bleed (although much shorter, of course)
Chance to give the same effect as Basilisk Venom (again, much shorter, basically a stun)
Does it interrupt stomps?
I’m pretty sure it interrupts, as would the Basilisk Venom effect if they ever implement it
