My Static Discharge WvW build.
So basicly your contribution in WvW is lesser damage while falling. You must fall very often:-)
Tekkit’s Workshop
I’d say that you are leaving too many damage points on the table by not investing in Explosives. SD requires that when you do Crit, you deliver a lot of Crit Damage. Your Crit Damage (as I’m sure you know) is tied directly to Power in the Explosive Trait line. At a minimum you should be in the 2700 range of Attack Damage (if not higher).
Rather than self-nerfing your build thru traits, I would adjust your play style. Select Adrenal Implant instead of Power Wrench. Learn to dodge effectively, and hang back in the WvW group that you run with.
Maybe select Elixer Gun instead of Goggles. The Acid Bomb, when it Crits, is the gift that keeps on giving. I’ve seen it deliver around 20k damage in WvW spread over several people. Also, Combo Acid Bomb with Super Elixer as a support for your team mates and it creates a very powerful Retaliation Field.
With SD, it’s all or nothing! Don’t nerf yourself! Let Anet do that for you (did I just say that?)

Elixir Gun usage seems to directly contradict your “all or nothing” comment. If it’s all or nothing, you definitely don’t want to give up what Throw Wrench brings to the SD builds.
Also, if you test in the mists you’ll find that while you achieve on average around 200 extra damage per chain lightening if you go deeper into the Explosives line, overall, the viability of the Firearms line combined with the extra damage you get from ensuring consistent Sigil of Air/Fire procs, extra rifle damage while you wait for SD cooldowns, burn duration increase (especially if you run with Rocket Turret) there are a lot more options to increase overall damage without having to rely on the extra 200-300 more standard chain lightening damage hits, unless your goal is to pop Drop Stimulant or Goggles and just try to go all burst right from the start and catch someone unaware. Any decent fight with a duration and you’ll benefit much more from the Firearms trait line.
To the OP; if you must take the falling damage decrease, so be it, but since you want to use Speedy Kits, in actual fights, you would benefit much more from taking Invigorating Speed instead. Speedy Kits + IS makes you quite the dodge machine, let alone if you stack it with a Sigil of Energy on your rifle.
However, if you run with a group and don’t want to change that I would suggest moving Speedy Kits to Adrenal Implant and rely on your group to provide swiftness support during long runs, Engineers are much more useful when we take our Vigor traits in most cases, especially running SD burst. It’s almost a necessity in any decent 1v1, since we have virtually zero significant condition removal.
If you want to provide team support, you could also take those 10 points from your 50% fall damage trait and put them in Explosives and take Accelerated Turrets, and bring along a Heal Turret and a Rifle/Rocket Turret. Significant CC knockbacks on a short CD, and the AoE condition removals and water field for Heal Turret are quite nice now.
Anyway, just my two cents and some things to think on.
@aydenuited,
I didn’t say give up the Took Kit. Throw wrench is indespensible to the SD build. What I said was to give up the Trait “Power Wrench” for Adrenal Implant.
The EG is a suggestion to alter the OP’s style of play to a more supportive + ranged role – where using Super Elixer can help his teammates.
Also, I am a hypocrite (!) because I run a hybrid SD w/Condi Damage/Condi Duration build. But I also accept that I’m glass cannon-ey and am helping to put the WvW Asura Repair Guy’s kid thru college.
