Guild Wars 2

So I’m not a big fan of the playstyle of HGH and so, pretty much since BETA, I’ve always run SD variants, so I thought I would post my more “well-rounded” SD build designed for 1v1 encounters in standard sPvP and maybe some in WvW, I wouldn’t know since I don’t play that much. This is not really a tPvP build, though I’m sure it could work at average to maybe slightly above average level play but certainly not at top-end.

Strengths: Took the standard SD builds and sacrificed a very small amount of crit frequency for 2 extra knockback CCs and taking full advantage of the new properties of Heal Turret.

Weaknesses: The same, heavy conditions will be a problem but getting Heal Turret back at 25% and extra CC helps. Stability absolutely slaughters the use of this build which is why it’s use in tPvP is a little niche at best. Also is pretty weak to rangers in general with their exceptional range.

Playstyle: Same as the standard SD builds… stay mobile, burst at the right times, but unlike the other SD builds, making use of Accelerated Turrets means you must strategically decide where to place your turrets and be aware of their position at all times. Detonation means knockbacks for escapes, melee pressure, or just an extra knockback/damage bit for someone trying to kite you and not paying attention to your turret placements.

If you don’t care about getting heal turret back at 25%, you can negate the points in Inventions and place them in Firearms, but for 1v1 encounters, a quickly dropped turret is another heal, another 2 conditions gone, and another knockback CC.

Avoidance is the name of the game to win with burst, so extra CC + Adrenal Implant + reduced CD on Gear Shield are crucial in their timings to make it work. Use Overcharged Shot early to unload your first bursts and then save it for their heal later in the fight.
