In my opinion toolkit and grenades are a must for P/P in PVP becouse you have much more defend with tookkit e and grenades 3 ,4

Well i don’t like the nade kit so much, i find it annoying and slower then bomb kit.
Rocket boots are pretty great for escaping or keeping distance, and big bomb is wonderful.
Elixer gun is pretty decend for the super elixer and 3+2.
i’ll try the nades again but stiil bomb has my favor
bomb and grenades are really different. I had always used bomb but bomb are static and are much slower to land . in my opinion bombs are great for node figthing but with bomb a shield is near to be a must for the combo you can do. Instead with P/P grenades snyergies really well and toolkit is a must, you have no block and no defence skill in your build . Obviously i am thinking at PVP … not at PVE …

Why do you need a defence skill when you can dodge? the toolkit seems useless to me, the toolkit’s toolbelt skill is really useless, toolkit is in more melee range then bomb kit, and i prefer the elixer gun for coni clearing every 20 secs and stun break in the toolbelt skill.

Prybar is awesome power and condi dmg, magnet is a great chasing ability and can even pull people off of towers in WvW, gear shield is the best block in the game, 3sec block on a 20(16) sec CD is amazing

Good luck relying on dodges to stay alive as an engi without a source of vigor or energy sigils. Your build doesn’t have much sustain either. If you don’t want to use tool kit or give up the elixir gun, I’d recommend at least taking out 2 points in Firearms and putting them in Alchemy for the vigor, especially since it synergizes quite well with Speedy Kits.
You say that the tool kit’s toolbelt skill is useless, but you ignore skills #2-5, which are all great in a condi build. Box of Nails gives you some kiting ability, which is important in builds that lack endurance regen such as yours. Pry Bar is one of your main sources of confusion and hits hard even in a condi build, so I’m not sure why you’re think it’s useless. You can even combine Pry Bar with Magnet to land a free hit with it. Speaking of Magnet, it’s a great control skill that can force the enemy to waste a dodge if you cancel the cast, or lets you land a skill of your choice (usually Pry Bar) plus a couple more depending on your speed and the reaction time of the opponent. And of course there’s Gear Shield, which is one of the best block skills in the game and ups your survivability by a ton if you use it well.
I find the lack of incendiary powder disturbing… you’d likely get a lot more mileage out of that than explosive powder, particularly since your power is somewhat low. Incendiary powder also increases your ranged potency, whereas explosive power relies on you being in melee range, which can be dangerous with your limited defensive options. I’d also question if modified ammuntion was worth it for the same reason, but this is less situational than explosive powder. You could maybe try using carrion gear instead to make these traits more potent, but that would change up your other stats.
Additionally, if you’re going for vuln stacking, the grenade kit will work way better for that than the bomb kit. This is considering both steel-packed powder as well as precise sights since the grenade kit allows you to hit the target multiple times.
Alternatively, you might consider slotting sitting duck instead of precise sights since it’s not reliant on RNG and procs off two of your abilities. This can result in a more persistent, long lasting vulnerability stack, in addition to that from steel-packed powder, whereas you would be hard pressed to maintain that sort of vulnerability stack with precise sights. You also get some additional cripple on the side.

The mainly use is an additional condition remove.
Anyway:
p/p —> grenades + toolkit.
p/s —> bombs + any kit
You don’t need the second pistol with bombs.

rifle —> toolkit + anything else…
but perhaps i like toolkit too much
