My whole build got nerfed
They buffed turrets. Have fun.
Those will never be viable in my eyes, and I’m not a fan of artificial intelligence in pvp. And looking at the update changes…..there’s nothing in there that makes them anymore worth it in my eyes

Agreed! I was such a big fan of smoke bomb + rocket boots. I definitely saw that elixir r nerf coming so I tried my best to stay away from it….too many people complaining about it….but yet a warrior can do it every time they go down (trained or not doesn’t matter).
They did so much damage to us in this update. Wow, bomb builds, grenade builds, alchemist builds (elixirs), insert relative nerfed build here, and here, and here, while still leaving everything else basically broken

Yep it’s like no one over there even plays this class. AT ALL. wake up devs we’re tired of being second class! and I’m not a pvper before people ask, I’m pve’er and there are still HUGE problems more then a month later, but they made sure those boxes were in the store didn’t they huh… smh
Why does anet still insist on nerfing engineers. What have we done to them.
Fortunately my rifle zerker build didnt get touched, but kitten I know the feeling this patch just kicked us right in the dick for build options (which we are severely lacking) I’m finding it harder and harder to convince myself to stay when people like Raijinn get the shaft and completely blindsided by this kind of crap.
I suppose I’m going to tough it out and see the direction they chose but I’m half way out the door if they keep pulling this kind of negligence to the real issues of the game. don’t even get me started on all the farming we gotta do to get all of our sets back to par as well as Fine transmutation stones to make them look like they use too. ugh!
I play both engie and mesmer, and both got tanked pretty hard today. What they did to mesmer is unforgivable though, not being able to summon illusions when blinded or a player blocks or dodges or breaks los (we all know how many los issues this game has). I can see the attacks of the illusions not hitting when a player is in one of those states, but for it to prevent us from even summoning our only class mechanic…it’s pretty much killed the class all the way around, hell you can’t even summon your phantasm in a down state if the person uses invuln or blind on you first. Sorry I realize this a engineer forum got kinda sidetracked. Back on topic sorta I suppose what I wanted to say was I feel your pain, Anet made some very very poor choices in their implementation with this patch and it’s not leaving a warm fuzzy feeling any more.
edit: for anyone that is thinking it is all about a damage nerf for mesmer it is not just simply that, mesmers rely on their clones for defense as well ie distortion or distraction and some of our traits even reduce how much dmg we take based on the amount of illusions active.

Mesmer are strong enough please go to the mesmer forum mesmer is still one of the best solo classes in PvP. everyone has to deal with los and blind now you are in the our world.

Except what you fail to realize, is it prevents a mesmer from using their class mechanic, that is basically like saying if I blind you, dodge you or are invuln or break los you can’t switch kits. It is not about a damage nerf it is about breaking the fundamental mechanic of the class all together. It has nothing to do with the skills themselves hitting I stated they should not hit if a player is one of those states, but it literally leaves the mesmer with zero options since our offense and defense both come from being able to generate illusions.
Engineers are punished for using their class mechanic kits with -450 stats and no sigils, and we suffer from this since the start. I hate nerfs for anyone but now you can understand our problems better.

Honestly my intention was not to come here to complain about the mesmer mechanic change. I also play a engie, both my mesmer and engie are lvl 80…Yes I do play my mesmer more, the actual point of my post was that I felt the op’s pain in regards to this patch and sort of got sidetracked (that happens to me a lot lol). I guess the point of this response is I know all too well how the kits affect effectiveness and the lack of build diversity that comes with poor scaling, the mesmer change however is a different issue still, it actually prevents you from using your class mechanic. Oops here I go again on another tangent, I will end this now just by saying I am not trying to stir up any drama about it as I realize that many classes still have huge issues for anet to work through.
How about an….
