Hey, was thinking of starting a eng for a alt, do you guys have any tips for first time eng player.
Also what are there like in pve, I’m interested in pistol shield but like I said I’m new to the class and would like abit of help starting off

Rifle is where it’s at for most of PVE, good control and burst damage. PVE engi is all about hoping around kits/weapons and using the big damage skills and swapping to the next.

As for tips, work on learning to use your blasts in smoke/water/fire fields. You have a lot of blasts on various skills, make use of them.

Learn to use the tools you have in different kits, even if you find one setup you like, just keep looking around at your other tools so you’re sure to get a good understanding of what they do. Engineers are a very versatile profession, I like to think of them as a universal cog, whatever your team is lacking, you can provide as long as you understand your options.

Mainly use rifle, yet pistol + shield is also a great way of playing engi and offers more utility.
