Need Pro Tips on Condi fighting Hambow
Wait until the pin down nerf.
Actually, just wait until the whole patch. The way in which you deal with hambow could change once we get our hands on all the changes. In particular, the pin down change will make it so that you actually have something to watch out for when they’re using the bow now.
As for general advice, getting hit with pin down will often mean that you lose. Try your best to dodge it or just keep decent blind uptime (although combustive shot will make that hard). If you’re able to reflect it with your shield (assuming you’re using it), that can be quite helpful.
Smoke bomb can be great for dealing with the hammer since the attacks are slower. Also, don’t pop your stun break into another part of the CC chain. You have to make sure to time it and your follow up precisely or you will just waste it.
Since you’re not running tool kit, you’ll have a bit harder time waiting out their berserker stance, so you may need to kite around with acid bomb.
Poison application will be helpful for reducing their very strong healing too.
Other than that I haven’t much else.
pin down is not the only problem with hambows. just use shield#1, #2, toolkit #4 or dodge it (yes, it’s not telegraphed for 10 hours but you still can see it). this is ofc a lot harder from close distance. as for the stunchain take stab armor and prot injection with you. you’ll actually love being stunned with those two.
for killing them stack up confusion (ofc cover it with other conds, also you don’t want to spread out the confusion but rather hit them hard for a short time with it) and watch them either die or wait. blinds are your friends as well as well timed blocks (afaik those also prevent condremove from anything else than lb). poison is a must against healsig.
one kit has to go, toolkit is a must in pvp. no wrench, no win.
yup, this is all for condispamgineer. apart from that you simply can’t win. given a equal skill level.

Take advantage of poison grenades currently high poison uptime and poison him constantly along with fumigate and poison volley for whenever he takes it off to limit that regeneration. And keep hindering his movements with ice nades/cripple on egun. Though itll become that much harder if he takes melandru runes.
I´ve made good experiences with e-gun against hambow. Most hambows start off with a few lb-autos and combos and mightstacking etc… I mainly keep spamming e-gun #1 to mitigate their damage and get bleeding and burning through incendiary powder on them. This works magic while they use longbow. Through weakness they´re likely to never cause any serious damage to you while using lb.
That alone will most likely not kill them, of course. But also they won´t kill you while using their lb. They´ll feel pressured to use hammer at some point. when they swap to hammer and charge you just lure them into your nades and bombs.
And of course always try to keep them poisoned. You have plenty options to do so.
Most warriors are likely to pop zerker stance when they switch to hammer and decide to charge you. When they do that I usually tend to get distance through e-gun #4 or even directly combo into invisibility.
Another thing is to look out for their lb #5. If you manage to reflect it it´s a great opportunity to stack tons of conditions on him and possibly enhance the combo to the widely known condition overload engineer´s are capable of.
Actually every build I played with e-gun never had any serious problems against hambows. You can keep weakness on them, get some distance when they switch to hammer and continuously poison them. That´s overall 3 things warriors don´t like.
While using the e-gun against warriors it´s just a game of waiting when the warriors will charge you. A duel against a warrior is no place to simply run in, spam your nades n bombs and hope he drops. Actively using e-guns autoattack and landing your attacks when he´s closing in may be a bit slower than just charging him, but it´s a save way to win.
Just remember: In this matchup the warrior needs to get to you to kill, not vice versa. Make use of that fact.
Of course this goes only for open duels… while on a point you may want to pick the toolkit. But in an open battle where you can kite at will the e-gun should be more than enough.
(Just noticed that I heavily rely on my e-gun. With no other kit I feel so confident against warriors…)
Stack condis on them. If they use endure pain keep stacking. If they use berserker stance just block and kite till it’s gone then stack some more.
