Need a bunkerbuild!
I personally don’t love healing bombs. I tried it for a while, and ended up abandoning it because it wasn’t as powerful as some of the other available options. It is amazing in zergs, but in small skirmishes or 1v1 point defense it loses a lot of its power.

The first two utilities can be tailored to the occasion, I often like the slick shoes + rocket boots combo but I’ve found that while WvW encourages excessive mobility, sPvP point-holding doesn’t require that level of it. Therefore, I neglect rocket boots for a throwable knockback on a low CD, slick shoes for a different stunbreak (but either really works), and speedy kits for a 20% CDR on both.
Once you get to 25% health, you hit a plateau of unkillableness, as Automated Response kicks in. You have two blocks, both on 20% reduced cooldowns, and besides that have absurd tankiness.

Gadgets used to be severely underpowered, but the recent patch pretty much buffed every available gadget somehow. The only one I still don’t like is the battering ram one, as the mine can theoretically function better in every way if you have the ability to use it properly.

This is the build I use for Skyhammer. I specced a bit like a Guardian with a lot of control and good spike management. I took all the protection traits as they make you very resilient to spike. If against boon stealers, take Stabilised Armour in inventions instead.
Bomb healing is meh and you’d be better off spiking yourself back up with water field combos. That’s 1k+ each time.
I chose to stack Boon Duration but it’s meh. You can use Melandru or Mercy. Mercy with Elixir R is nice. You can take 409 with it. But then you’ll have to take something other than toolkit for Stunbreak. You can also switch out Bomb kit and put 10 in Tools to get toolkit CD. Your choice really.
Use healing turret for more spike healing and a bit of regen. 15 minor trait of Inventions and Tools will both recharge healing of Medkit at 25% so there’s an overlap… you’ll get spiked down at 25% anyway it’s not so worth it esp this condi-heavy meta. Heal turret removes 2 conditions and don’t require little casts to use to full potential.

Big Ol’ Bomb + Healing Turret + Turret Detonate + Shield 4 Detonate (Spike healing + CC)
Heal recharge at 25% = heal up before 25% so you can heal again
Toss Elixir S + Magnet (Skyhammer glass panel quick gib)
Concussion Bomb + Prybar + Static Shot (Confusion stack)
CD not up = dodge
full endurance = dodge
out of endurance = switch to/out of kit
target nearly dead = CC for teammates to kill
