Guild Wars 2

Guys know what I’m talking about? Something circular, and silver. All I can find are wooden shields, with some steel trims on them, but need something that’s just metalic (and don’t forget circle shaped, I’ve seen a lot of steel, silver, or w/e, but with weird shapes).

If you look at the naming rules for example, I think it is pretty clear that Anet is steering very clear of anything that may infringe on any copy right issues.

Also, trust me, you will find a good deal of varying shield aesthetics as the game moves on.

the lionguard shield / aureate (one of the human cultural items) are round and have a lot of metal like Caps. No star though. You can also get that kite shield style like classic cap on another human the kryta named shields. I can’t think of any others though.

I have one with a big glowing diamond in its center that appears somewhat futuristic

The one I use now had glowing flame like stripes on it, it is called “Flame guard of Fire”

The Kryta shield look pretty nifty on the engineer becuase of the shape of the shield has a little built in “slot” on the side for a pistol it looks like to me. Reminds me of a riot shield or something.

Engineers should get an iron man kit complete with real rocket boots, bunker busting rockets, sniper rifle hand lazors, and +9001 toughness.

Edit: And elixir X should turn you into the hulk.

the aureate is prolly the closest thing i’ve found, to what im looking for. as for coglin, the texture of that shield is right, the only problem is the furnace in the middle, and the shape isn’t what i wanted.

I like the charr’s steam shield, it just looks like it was designed to be thrown to cut some ones head off. And its kinda around.

That won’t stop them from hovering their hand over the infringement going “I’m not touching it! I’m no touching it!” in a childish voice. Guardians get a skill called Shield Of The Avenger. It’s passive isn’t special, but it’s active ability throws itself like a boomerang at enemies, Captain America style. I wouldn’t be surprised if they release a skill for a round metal shield with a star on it called General Kryta soon.

Sorry to necro a thread, but my 2 cents:
Best shield would be Call of the Commissar. Circular, metallic, concentric rings. Looks like the unpainted shield. However, currently, it is unknown as to how to acquire it.

Another great shield is Guardian of the Six. All silver, and circular. It’s actually the shield in the icons for the engineer shield skills. The only problem are the little red embellishments around the shield, but still decent.

The shield on the shield #4/5 is actually the Whisper’s Secret Shield, also a nice skin.

When you will throw it (5th button skill) - it will be the Wooden shield anyway...
