ok so I’m in the middle of deciding between making a ranger or engineer my main alt for goofing off, playing around when I’m taking breaks from my warrior.

I was wondering how elixer gun fairs, it seems to be a rather interesting weapon from what i’v heard but its hard to get early in leveling so I was curious what other though of it dps wise and support wise.

It does a little of everything but at a subpar to mediocre level.

You clearly didnt read what OP wrote…

Elixir Gun is bad atm. Damage output is subpar + skills are lackluster. Healing is neglectable. I have yet to meet a single person in PvE calling for a condition removal from an engineer. (then again admittedly i dont PvE that much)

Overall Elixir Gun does not shine since the kit refinement nerf – especially in PvE i can see no reason i would want to bring it

If you want to level fast in PvE – Power with bombs is the way to go.

it shines when fighting one big bad npc who you don’t want to get close to, and that you fight with others (veterans, champions, bosses…).
You can weaken him, support he others with condi removal and a bit of healing, and when he comes your way: jump out with #4 and let him eat some of that damage and continue from a distance again.

For real solo stuff, or worse: for taking on multiple mobs: get something else like bombs or grenades, or the flamethrower that complements the Elixir Gun somewhat…
