I have played engineer for a while now I and I must say I really love the profession!
It`s definately my favourite one so far

One thing that I have been thinking about, that might add another cool thing to the engineer. Ice field is something we already have in our mortar elite, but I think the intention was not for combos with oneself, but with others. But having an ice field which we could access a little easier, could a small and short one, but still easier than it is now.

Why do you want an ice field you might ask. The reason being Frost Aura, which you get from leaping/blasting in the ice field. Frost Aura would bring some more options for damage mitigation, as well as more access to the chill condition. Think about, if you got a thief that wants to see you dead, you can apply this and take 10% reduced damage while chilling him at the same time.

As long as Frost Aura is balanced enough for the Engineer, I would beg the developers for an ice field. It would make me happy, and possibly several others. The only problem about this would probably be how to add it, through kits, new ability, or what? I don`t care, just another ice field would be marvelous.

Devs could probably tweak Elixir gun #4 to drop an ice field (keeping the jump away) and make it a more potent CC/retreat option. Have the description say something about spewing sub-zero chems instead of acidic chems. As it stands now I don’t ever use it for it’s damage damage anyways.

New combo field for Engi needs to be lightening. As it is, only Eles can drop them and since we’ve got all the gadgets, it just makes sense. Can be incorporated into Tool Kit or Shield or a toolbelt skill easily enough.

As for ice, meh…frost aura is certainly helpful and we can make them with an ally. But I we don’t have a single “ice” attack and it’s not very fitting from a thematic standpoint.

But I think agree that lightning fields are really missing in this game, and engineer turrets/gadgets would be a prime candidate to generate them.
