Here’s an interesting question:

As an engineer, if you could put an extra normal skill in your elite skill slot, in place of your elite skill, would you?

Supply Crate is awesome.
But you bring up a very good point.
Yes. I would.
Especially in PvE.

A truly amazing idea. And if I could, I would drop supply crate in a heartbeat. The amount of builds that would become viable to me would be insane, I can only imagine

I’d do this on my Elementalist, Guardian and Engineer. In a heartbeat.

No, not without the toolbelt component. Otherwise yes, most certainly in a lot of situations. Supply crate is not bad, but turret tend to be wiped out fast in AoE heavy environments.

I like this idea. gw1 had a lot of elite skills, and a lot of build possibilities. So far gw2 has not impressed me with the lack of builds and skills. I think having normal skills added to the elite slot could help a bit.

Yup only decent elite is supply drop and if play asura attack golem with med kit boost. (i can hear another nerf inc. ) Golem do double dps compared to engi (sad, ridiculous but true) Too bad it inst insta cast. For me its been the last ace in sleeve when ppl ignore it. (especually guardians and then boom boom.) Golem is what engi kits should be.

I kinda consider the supply crate to be the best of a bad bunch and I’d swap it out for something more generally useful in a heartbeat.

hey, that is what I do too xD; except i use elixer S before casting golem and it completely covers the delay of casting that golem. So in my Oh crap moment, will become their okitten moments.

Just so you guys know, I always appreciate it when there’s an Engineer dropping supply crates for the turrets and medkits. Thanks to all the Engies I’ve played with.

This is coming from a Ranger, you’re fellow bottom-rung buddy.

I won’t lie, I’d swap it out for flamethrower, bringing me up to 5 kits.

During my entire combo, shortly after using acid bomb, I could position myself and use napalm blast. I’d also get an AoE point blank blind, and a projectile reflect / knockback to utilize. And a nice flame wall should the situation rise (like a mob staying perfectly still so I can throw it on them).

I’d chuck Pain Inverter in there in an instant.
Currently, I’m not giving up my zomgrenades, my Prybar of Face Hugging+2, or my Super Elixir x2.

I think every profession should get more elites. That would be a better option. Engineers/ Guardians/ Necros, currently only have 1 viable elite.

At this point, I defenitely would swap the elite for a normal kit.

But I would prefer if the OTHER elites would get some love instead.
Mortar could be great and real ‘engineerlike’ but it needs several improvements first.
Elixir X shouldn’t be a boring copy that’s random like this either.

Yes. I dont even think Supplycrate is all that good. Best of a bad bunch i suppose, but compared to some Elites other professions sport, really not even close. Even if i didnt get a toolbelt skill for it.

Perhaps another way to make Elites better is to give them a toolbelt ability.

Easy. A four-kit build that still had room for elixir S would be way better than dropping three turrets on 180sec cooldown. I’ll give up my toolbelt skill from elixir gun.

Took the words right out of my mouth!!!! Med kit, grenade kit, elixir gun, tool kit, and STILL be able to use elixir s?? YESSS PLEASE sign me and sacrifice that 5th tool belt skill to the gods

I’d swap out the slot for either a kit or yet another turret. Maybe make use of the Radiation Field, for once.
