I love the high APM, unique playstyle, and adaptability of the class. All that aside this is the only class I’ve played that doesn’t… I guess “feel” right. As I’m heavily involved in WvW I often get jumped 2-3v1. I don’t have enough dmg with conditions to down people before being overwhelmed. My skills are clunky and often backfire, leaving me in a bad position.

I adore this class and I want to get this to work. Maybe if people can throw some builds my way I can look through and adjust them. Right now I’m just running a 1.5k condition, 1700 toughness, nade/boots/toolkit build. Anything you can do to help me learn the class more or give me ideas I would appreciate. I really enjoy this class.

Don’t fight in big Zerk,thanks to AOE cleanse. Skirmish, small fight is more of your battlefield. Kite them and let Condi do the work for you.And any class that lack Condi Cleans is your easy prey. That being said but you can still kill an Eles if play smart.

Invest heavily in the Alchemy and Inventions line. Focus on survivability and condition damage over time. For conditions to work, you need to outlast your opponent(s). Use Runes/Armor that focus on surviving.

A survivor build is not “sexy” in the sense that you aren’t going to be dropping 6k burst-damage — but it is viable, and rack up the kills.

And practice, practice, practice.

I have the same problem…the condition damage is pretty low…it would take all week to kill anyone….even with 1400 condition damage i see little benefit for it.

Using Nades in 1v1 or 1vX situations can be difficult to master I kind of loath it lol

I run a Static Discharge build with great success but you will need different gear (mine is a mix of PVT, Knights, and Zerker) The base of the build is 0/30/0/10/30 get real good at dodging =P

For conditions I ran 10/30/0/30/0 focusing on P/S or P/P bleeds and burns a plenty and with rocket boots your mobility is pretty wicked.

I am in love with all of my gadgets and the near limitless possible builds my engi can run i would be so bored with a War Thf or Ele having to run the FOTM all the time.
