With the change to Kit refinement, how many of our top and above average builds are still viable? To my knowledge kit refinement was part of almost every viable build this class created over the last few months.

Why?

Teldo has said that his condition burst build still trumphs in PvP.

In PvE, grenade spamming is still decent, albiet no where near warriors, so we’re kind of left out of the speed run parties…guess that means unviable.

In WvW we have TANKCAT, which is stronger now with the prybuff. Grenade spamming…again. Also, Maskaganda (sp?) has done a nice show of pistol/pistol roaming condition builds.

Even outside of kit refinement, I’m very sketchy as to what Anet wants kits (or the engineer as a whole) to be able to do. So I’m building towards a condi-pistol build for WvW.

We have SOME viability, but not much to really stand out, except fun tricks and some gimmicks.

I’ve been really trying to think of some new builds. Right now im working on a turret build for WvW that has been really successful in terms of accomplishing the goal of the build. I’m planning on releasing it soon, still ironing out some of the stuff.

What about full berseker nade rifle type build? Is that fun in wvw? I see it being really strong in zerg battles

Not talking about 100nades. Talking about going pure grenade spammer. Like, 30 explosives, 30 alchemy, 10 tools/firearms/inventions HGH build, or whatever people run when they want to hit 2345-F1-111111111111111.

I didn’t know people used 100nades in PvE. It looks kind of lackluster in dungeons when you can only fire it off every 20 seconds.

I was just making the point that there are still some working builds that didn’t rely on kit refinement, that people have success with.

I was just making the point that there are still some working builds that didn’t rely on kit refinement, that people have success with.

By 100nade i meant any build with rotation, not simple spam, which of course will include 20s skill which brings 5-8k damage to boss / even more to crowd.
What i wanted to say that kit refinement modification in no way changes any pve build which use it, because you mostly use it on gren kit.

Kit refinement idiocy means there are no reliable counters to conditions and cc but elixirs and that all multi kit builds are dead.

Awful patch yet again, greatly reducing the small number of viable builds, yet again.

So how many top level builds are still working?

Power elixir is still very viable , and i run it in spvp tournys. ( have 117 Qp) so im not some never did paid tourny noob.
It never relied on 100 nades, but does require smart game play.
p/p , or p/s if enemy has thief.

30, 0, 0, 30, 10. Obvious traits in first tree for the gren, like burn on crit, extra grens etc.

Then you want alchemy 20% faster exliirs, condi cleanse on exliri, and might on exlir.

Run exlir h, s, and b, gren kit, supply kit.

Thats x6 exlirs (f1,f2,f3). to use as cleanse, exliri b great in a fight, all give you might when you use them also.

reasonble durability, especially compared to 100nades. Decent damage and good 1vs1 ability.
And just grab swiftness on equipping kit on the tool trait line.

Against PRO-enemies (high tiers obviusly) you will going down in seconds. If it will be fun – go on.
low-tiers – you can wear anything and even nothing.

Condis are hugely UP. This is why empathic bond was nerfed. My ranger with EB and HS and healing power simply could not be touched by condis, period. I assume this is another reason why engie condi removal was nerfed
