With full set of sinister you can do up to 50k(without vulnerability) burning in less than 3 second. It is the most op thing I have ever seen since the game launched. Now I just hope Anet does not overnerf this.

My build: all sinister stats
Krait runes
20%buring duration and 10% condi duration sigil.
traits: explosive, firearm and invention focus on condi of course.
Use dual pistol4, bomb kit2 and flame turret tool belt for fast stacking burning. then spam Grenade kit for lots of crit(the trait burn when you crit)

Some must fight so that all may be free.

I’m calling BS. I have a full sinister set and there is no way you can do 50k in 3 seconds, let alone 25k. I’ll believe it when OP posts a build.

You’d have to be at full might, full vuln, and applying 25 stacks alone. Show me how it’s done.

Edit: For reference, engi has about 15 sources of burning across all traits, skills, and toolbelt skills. You can use superior rune of the baelfire, an increased burning duration sigil, and food to get your burning duration up to 120%. I still doubt a single engi could apply 25 stacks.

Just to throw some numbers, with sinister gear, with full vuln and might, you’d be getting 625 per tick, to get 50k in 3s you’d need, 26 stacks of burning for 3s. Not something I see as even remotely possible by Engi. Unless they screwed something up between PVE and PVP condi’s, no, you’re lying OP, or something is seriously screwy. (and without vuln that means 33 stacks for 3s… LOL, exaggerating much?) My guess assuming the OP isn’t lying is that instead of reducing condi they increased it by a LARGE amount in sPVP. If in PVE…well kitten it’s broken and not what they intended at all.

I’m sure this will all get figured out quite quickly, but even so, I think/hope they’ll just get it down to the intended level. 500/stack/tick isn’t OP at all. Triple that, which is what the OP seems to imply, well, yeah needs to get fixed.

I got it too though I think it is a graphic glitch will where one number overlays the other and let’s say a 5000 is supposed to appear over 1000 but instead of exact same spot it moves slightly to the left and TADAA! You get yourself 50000 dps…

In any case, stacking burning is really op for classes like ele, engy and guardian. Especially ele, who can have 20+ might all the time.

Just getting these out there so we know we are all in agreement:

1) Conditions seem a bit strong
2) World bosses are currently too easy
3) There are some bugged skills and traits
4) There are some overpowered builds

We won’t fix it all at once but these are four large topics we are talking about. In the meantime keep the feedback and bug reports coming, and I guess farm up some world bosses. We are dedicating time towards these issues and are intending to resolve them as quickly as possible. As we have said before, the live environment differs too greatly from anything we can reliably simulate internally so big changes like today’s build will cause things to sometimes change at an alarming rateTM.

4,102 burning/sec. not really seeing where 10k is coming from. nevermind 16k/s
Rabid pvp.

Blowtorch at point blank listing 11.5s of burning, 3 stacks 11,863 damage. does feel like it went from garbage to a bit much.

Throw naplam needs a nerf with this buff. this is a big part of the problem.
25s cd, fire field. pulses 3 times, stacking 6 stacks of burning. too strong on a point in spvp, and bosses wont move out of it.

Incendiary ammo from flamethrower+blowtorch is practical instant gib, if the target doesn’t have a cond removal ready. But even that can be overpowered with static shot, pdv, bleeds and vuls. we add a knockback/stun on this.. gg. ram, moa, etc..
Big CD on IA at least… But honestly it needs a rework with the cond changes.

op is using inventions, but swap to tools. get the vigor and 15% cd reduc on throw napalm/IA. And kinetic charge for that 42s IA cooldown. what even does double IA do?

Pve you can get much higher stats then pvp.

and make it weaker then bleeding, or just remove all uniqueness of it?

Burning it supposed to hit hard with limited applications. But the skills that apply it were not really designed for stacking. there were designed for +duration.

There you go Sir, condi nerfs inc as well as some other things that are on their radar. I would imagine Condi will be the first to be adjusted since it is #1 on their list and everyone is complaining about it.
